peternapper
Will be interesting to see what happens if games at our level cannot be attended, will it include HFL & LL games which could pass a Saturday afternoon until crowds grow too large the Junior games which in some areas would have too large crowds as it is.

Newbornbairn
Somebody should do one of those "World Cup of" threads to see which management team would kick f**k out of the rest.
Sanity check needed.
Outside rangers, celtic, hearts, there is enough empty seats in grounds to tell supporters to sit a few seats apart from each other, dont see how the emergency service argument applies to league one as police numbers are minimal and it's the Saint John's ambulance volunteers who I see at the Falkirk Stadium and most other grounds.
EdinburghBlue
The virus is expected to keep getting worse through April, before peaking in May. You’re looking, potentially, at June or probably July before events are allowed again, and that’s assuming there’s some sort of vaccine or cure on the way for the next winter.Closed-door or not at all I think, with a big question mark over next season at this stage. Spanish Flu lasted for a year with three separate peaks.

Jack Burton
There is a meeting tonight to decide what happens with future fixtures. Should find out fairly soon.https://m.clydefc.co.uk/news/2020/03/12/6365/#.XmqcH2mnxkw

Certainly don't make a point of going to watch Airdrie week in week out. So sitting metres apart doesn't particularly work.
San Starko Rover
Voiding the season is the only fair decision unless you manage to get it finished behind closed doors but as soon as players start to get it you’re screwed. Only other option is pause the season until this is done then finish it which would mean next season doesn’t happen. You can’t promote or relegate teams with games left to play. Can’t see any games going ahead even junior ones as what’s to say when the Senior leagues are cancelled this won’t see a lot going to watch Junior teams. Whole thing is a nightmare and I don’t know how many clubs could face going to the wall. Even awarding a title, there’s 1 point between ourselves and Falkirk how could you give it to either side fairly.

peternapper
Watching a bit of the TPC Golf from the states, was announced earlier that no spectators will be allowed into the course for the last three days. Mr Trump has went from ignoring it too panic stations in a few days.
jd_mo
There's bound to be a player somewhere on Saturday who tries fake coughing on opponents at a corner to get them to take a step away?
haufdaft
The government compensates the teams based upon average attendance and food/drink revenue thus far and pays the networks costs, the teams pay staff to stay home like they were there working, and all games are broadcast free. Why should the government compensate clubs? Will they also compensate cinemas, nightclubs and bingo halls? The money is already within football. It's currently allocated to prize money. Just share it out.

falkirkthebigclub
Continue where we left off at the start of next season (lots of personnel changes but tough shit) & treat these fixtures as a play-off for the 20/21 season which would begin asap. The new season should feature one fewer round of fixtures due to the backlog.
G_H
I had a google and found this, which unfortunately says a lot of nothing other than theres going to be an attempt to talk about the situation: https://www.scottishfa.co.uk/news/coronavirus-joint-response-group-update/?rid=14258 https://spfl.co.uk/news/coronavirus-joint-response-group-update Following the First Minister’s comments regarding plans to restrict public gatherings from next week, we will enter discussions with the Scottish Government to understand the full detail of their plans and the implications for clubs and national sides. For the avoidance of doubt, all SPFL games scheduled for this weekend will be proceeding as planned. Of course, we ask all fans, players and officials to heed the clear instructions about self-isolation for seven days if they exhibit the symptoms of Coronavirus, and the vital necessity of good handwashing hygiene. The Scottish FA has also been invited by UEFA to join a video conference call on Tuesday, at which its Executive Committee will discuss European football’s response to the outbreak with all 55 national associations and other key stakeholders. This will enable the Scottish FA to provide clear and unequivocal advice ahead of the UEFA Nations League Play-Off semi-final against Israel on March 26th at Hampden Park. Once we are in possession of a definitive action plan from the Scottish Government, we will communicate contingency plans as quickly and as accurately as possible to all our stakeholders. The same applies to other Scottish FA fixtures likely to be affected by the implications of the ‘delay’ period advice, such as the remaining William Hill Scottish Cup fixtures, and qualifiers involving the Scotland Women’s National Team and men’s Under-21s. grumswall
What's to say we would even be able to start a new season as normal? This virus has only just hit this country, we don't have a full understanding of it yet and the powers that be aren't doing hellish much to stop the spread at the start.
