It's not the same for many in Scotland. Paying wages with no income and authorities already warning about low cash reserves might mean a few will find it hard to continue. Could we take the Serie A approach and postpone everything until the beginning of April, then play Tuesday/Saturday until the games are fulfilled? Obviously still makes it difficult for small clubs to pay wages for the next 3 weeks, but with the prospect of income just a month away they may be able to struggle through. I think they'll suspend and review later. Clubs at every level will have budgeted based on the prize money from their particular division. If a Premiership club expects to get £1m+ in prize money and ends up with £500k or something like that then how is that going to help all clubs survive? The government compensates the teams based upon average attendance and food/drink revenue thus far and pays the networks costs, the teams pay staff to stay home like they were there working, and all games are broadcast free. Gives people something to do while staying in, keeps people paid, possibly boosts attendance next year. Curler Posted March 12, 2020 Share Posted March 12, 2020 Players who are out of contract would have an effect on teams being able to play beyond the season end which in turn would impact upon teams with small squad numbers and give an advantage to those with larger squads. Seasonable solution would be to scrap promotion and relegation for all divisions. The downside of that would be the seethe from those who had built their squad on promotion and it not happening.
