FairWeatherFan
I suppose there's the conflict with sponsorships and rights deals. Which are ultimately the ones funding the prize money so can't have too many complaints. There's also the tradition of splitting the gate in the Scottish Cup. With a variety of streaming models being used it probably simplifies the hassle of working that out.

It also has a sponsor, it also has a TV deal, and it also has gate-sharing. Those issues were clearly not taken as king, and clubs were able to stream games in the groupstage and beyond. If anything you'd think the League Cup was harder to sort out: there is no TV deal for Scottish Cup preliminaries and this season's cup has no sponsor currently. (Why would streaming games... most of which are behind-closed-doors... be to the detriment of a sponsor anyway? Will there be no streaming throughout the cup: R3 day in January and you've 12 ties involving Premiership downward no-one can watch?). Penicuik v Musselburgh was already streamed in PR1 incidentally. The issues might be the same but it's a different competition with different organisation/sponsors/broadcast partners. Will it change at some point I don't know, Penicuik getting streamed just highlights to me it was an issue that flew under the SFA's radar and now they're scrambling. Which is the way the SFA usually operates with little to no foresight.

Premier Sports have the deal to show the Scottish Cup ( along with BBC). They also have the deal to show the League Cup and clubs were allowed to live stream those matches after negotiations by the much-maligned SPFL head honchos. So is it the BBC who are the problem here or the SFA? In the current climate it's ridiculous if our national broadcaster or national association are stopping supporters from watching their team. An absolute w**k move if it they are not for budging on this issue

Part of me still wonders about the initial concern over not starting the 2020-21 Scottish Cup until the 2019-20 Scottish Cup due to the supposed concerns over the title sponsor.

TheScarf
Was there a reason behind the original stance? Did the SFA think no-ones bothered about the Scottish Cup?

LeedsPhil
08:00 inspection at Keith. Apparently Threave Rovers are travelling up on Friday, overnighting in Inverness, ahead of their game at Nairn. I hope they've got the option of extending the hotel booking until Wednesday !
