Multiple players with same name in a match

Recommended Posts

On Saturday Montrose had two players with the name Cammy Ballantyne in their squad, one being the ex-Dundee United & Dumbarton player & the other a youth player on loan from St. Johnstone. Has this ever occured before either players on same or opposite teams?

In the early 60’s St Mirren had 2 players called Bobby (I think) Campbell who were referred to as Red Campbell and Black Campbell.

And vaguely related - Berwick have 4 Smiths in their 1st team squad.... Calum, Darren, Euan and Ali (last two brothers).

Can't remember the exact dates but we played Brechin a few seasons ago with Graeme Smith in goal while they also had Graeme Smith in goal.

Plus Livi also had Robert Snodgrass and Brad Snodgrass on the books at one time....strangely, not related

Not first names but Livi had all 4 jacobs brothers and 2 Winters brothers at the same time

Same with Falkirk and the 3 Fultons, doubt we ever had all 3 on the pitch at once though.

We managed to get the Jacobs brothers on the pitch together in one game....the winters brothers played together a number of times I think.

Dundee United had two Gordon Wallaces on their books around 1980  and East Fife had two Paul Taylors, who regularly played together a decade later

Jay and Dale certainly did not sure about Tyler.

Clyde had two David Thomson's on their books in the late 50s and early 60s. One was a goalkeeper and the other an inside forward, who played together a few times.
