Accies v The Lions

For all the win against Celtic was glorious, the result yesterday is probably more important. Monkey off the back in terms of away wins, our record at NDP is absolute sheese, and although it doesn't guarantee top six after the split it turns it from a pipe dream into a real probability.

What it also does is make me love this team even more. Although Souda can get tae f**k, the petulant wee p***k.

Gary and Davie seem quite good a man management so I'd imagine he'll get his wee row then and arm round the shoulder...he has the ability to be a huge player for us

I hear you re. his ability, that has never been doubted. He'll never be as huge a player for us as others though - Pittman, Bartley, Dykes, Lawless etc etc.

I'd imagine that the management might just be getting a bit sick of it. DM is constantly at him during games, and Holt makes the point after every game about doing simple things and earning the right to play. Souda strikes me as the type that will never learn which must infuriate the f**k out of them.

Pleasantly surprised that we didn't end up throwing away another two goal lead yesterday; even with 5 minutes to go, the nagging doubt was still there that if Accies got a third, you never know...

Delighted to actually see us win away from home in the league for first time since August 2018, though (missed Dingwall last August). Hopefully that's a big weight off the squad mentally, and we can kick on. Totally merited yesterday, pleasing to see us not panic either time we conceded and continue on with playing the game instead of panicking. Thought Sibbald was immense, and his goal just underlines the talent he does possess and also how much he's come on since he came here. Him and Pittman in full form will be a great asset heading towards the final third of the season.

Watching it back, fourth goal is really well worked and shows what a difference a year can make - we look a decent, cohesive unit going forward and the link up between Sibbald, Pittman, Lawless and Dykes at times is a good watch. Feel a bit for the keeper though as it looks to take a nick off the Hamilton boy and takes it away from him - good to see Pittman back with a bit of confidence now to actually get in those positions and take the shot on.

Souda, though - utterly unique in what he offers the squad but his attitude is well off. Not even sure Gary Holt and DM can turn him around. Saw both sides of him yesterday, the good - carrying the ball forward with real pace and driving us up the park into the Accies box; and the bad - complete inability to look up at times, try a trick too many and running the ball out of play, and of course the petulant rattle of the ball as he came off. Don't think we'll be seeing him any time soon.

Has Souda ever played a full 90 minutes? Must frustrate the hell out of him.

No, he hasn't. The most minutes he has had in a game is 81.

He kicked a football at a football match, though. We canny have that.

Hmm, it also shows he was thinking more about himself than the team, 4-2 up and has a temper tantrum at being subbed. If he can't sort that out is could transfer into the team and start being a problem.

Yeah he did a stepover and accidently kicked the ball and lost possession in a great attacking place when we were looking like scoring another goal, first half he was relentless though, tearing Accies apart. Put a few teasing balls across inside the six yard box that just evaded our players.

Actually surprised Sibbs got the full 90 mins, he normally gets subbed off before FT too.
