St Mirren v Aberdeen 26/01/20 1230ko

Recommended Posts

Agree with this, definitely less long balls than there has been, and when there is it comes after a spell of at least trying to pass it. The problem is all our possession is in an area of the pitch which will suit St. Mirren and doesn’t threaten them at all.
St. Mirren fans seem unaware that if a foul continues into the box it is a penalty.
Is it f**k

Media to say players lack creativity etc despite us playing the same way every single fucking game.
Kris Boyd blaming the numbers St Mirren have in the box and the players decision making.

It’s a combination of individual lack of quality and shite tactics.

We’re so easy to defend against. Feels like the same post every week but a team with a good shape and high work rate want to just be dealing with crosses into the box aimed at one man. Never mind the fact that our full backs barely get involved.

No pace, intensity, creativity to bring st mirren out their shape. Just get it wide and hope Sam gets on the end of one ball in ten. Or if we get a corner someone can get on the end of it. Fingers crossed.

That was so infuriating.

Thought we were better today in many different ways.

Kennedy was busy and once he gets used to playing at a bigger club he has the look of a decent player. Cosgrove wasn't as isolated as he has been the last few months, and the link up play was much better.

Logan probably had his best game of the season, and the defence were completely comfortable (one pass back aside) against a team that were obviously delighted from the first whistle with a point.

But the final ball was awful, and why we kept on allowing McGinn to waste corner after corner is beyond me.

We were better than we were last Saturday or Wednesday night, but we've got a long way to go.

You’re correct elvis. Your thoughtful and eloquent analysis has convinced me a foul in the box is not a penalty.

It's hard for a player to get involved when the majority of the time they're chasing aimless punts.

The tactics are stale. Any team that puts any effort in to watching how we play and organises themselves as you described is going to give us trouble.

That was “Derek get to f**k” heard pretty loudly towards the end from our fans?

4 games now without a goal from open play.

Edited: Derek not McInnes

Don’t get Aberdeen fans at all mcinnes has done a great job at Aberdeen since he’s been there.

Sitting 4th in the league competing for where they should be 3rd.

What are they wanting to go finish above the old firm every year who have by far bigger budgets they are living in a dream world.

Be careful what you wish for.

Good post.

People forget that for each of the last 3 seasons we've lost the player in the side that effectively brought everything together....The Rat, Kenny Mclean and Graham Shinnie.

Most clubs would struggle to overcome that, and we're no exception. McInnes can obviously see what the problems are and that's why we've brought in McGeough and Kennedy.

Yes, we're lacking confidence and our tactics are pretty one dimensional at the moment. I'm not sure that changing the manager will instantly make things better though.

What's Motherwell's budget? Or Killie's last year? We don't expect to be competing with the OF but we are underperforming if we finish below 3rd. it's not a surprise that fans are getting restless. They can stomach the pish football if we're winning. It's not being able to beat St. Mirren 3 times of even looking like the team with 3x/4x the budget.

I'm not calling for his head but certainly questioning him.

There was nothing good about the boys post.

Is that how good teams improve? By resting on their laurels? No. The football is terrible and unsuccessful. Crowds are dwindling. Folk can't give away tickets for free.

When McLean left he brought in Gleeson and Forrester. He said both had been well scouted. Both totally flopped. He lost Shinnie and has brought in Ojo and McGeouch. Paid good money and a good wage for both. We also signed Bryson. He's not losing players with no budget to replace them

We're behind Motherwell and we're behind Killie last season. Who from their squads would you have at Pittodrie? Take in to account Turnbull has played almost no football.

😂

Maybe a centre-mid would've been a good idea? Everyone knew Bryson would be a perma-crock. His recruitment over the last two years has been poor to say the least.

He’s pretty much having to rebuild year after year as his best players are picked off.

Motherwell are having a brilliant season yet your only 4 points behind them.

As I say Aberdeen fans should be careful what they wish for only takes 1 terrible management appointment to end up like hearts.
