It's hard to try and do a counter argument to someone dealing with the situation of caring for a disabled person but the honest answer is - the changes to the advice are based on clinical advice, no-one should be leaving isolation unless they have at least two negative tests. The balancing argument is that continuing with a ten day isolation means you have the potentially to negatively affect the healthcare for many, many people. I've just checked and you have to be 28 days past your booster to on the date of a positive test to count as vaccinated in the hospital figures now. I am only wearing a mask in the shops, bars etc so as not to potentially create a problem for the staff.
