Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

Surely given the widely acknowledged level of false positives this is a big backwards step. Every single positive LFT will then lead to isolation. The devastation to the workforce, schools, transport etc is going to go through the roof.
It's only for asymptomatic people too. The day or two reduction in isolation will be outweighed by the number isolating needlessly.

ETA govt Lackie on TV now with the real reason. They have huge numbers of LFTs but running out of PCR capacity. She also just said LFTs are "now recognised as highly accurate" WTAF !

Scientist bloke on earlier today stated LFT's were highly reliable for a positive result. I think he quoted 3 in 10000 were false positives.
He did not give the false negative figures which will be much more likely.
Anecdotally I've heard about 50% in some cases.

Having just wandered up to a bar, sans mask, and ordered a glorious pint I can confirm that no-one south of the border gives a rat's ass about Omicron.

Plenty of pubs north of the border doing the exact same.

Yup in my experience the only places in Glasgow strictly adhering to rules are city centre pubs because they obviously are more likely to get checked by the police

Scheme pubs and wee shadowy old man pubs are the place to be just now because reality is the police don’t give that much of a f**k . So I recommend everyone get yourself down to that local pub that looks like 1973 on the outside and 2019 on the inside .

Plenty pubs in Dundee the same. In fact the ones not allowing orders at the bar are the oddity as far as I can tell.

Won't lie. I'm still seething at that. 🤣

It was right up there with the "this is what a hero looks like" photo trend. Aaaaaarrrrrggghhhh!

There's folk who think Spring 2020 is up there with the evacuation of Dunkirk.

The weekly pots and pans fest descending into fireworks , improvised dancing and whatever else in between was one of the most bizzare episodes in the country

Led by the wonderful Captain Colonel Sir Tom. Bairns also emptying their piggy banks for the NHS.

Guido Fawkes 🤣

Interestingly he cuts of the beginning of the question. Wonder what it was..?

Journalist asks question about why Scotland isn't reducing isolation period. Sturgeon gives disgraceful reply. Today, the weasels have acquiesced and reduced it, as was inevitable.

What are you finding difficult?

Scotland's favourite dentist playing down the 'with' or 'because' of Covid data on STV.

It's a shame for him the ICU data holds the admissions mewling to account. Clown.

Be some laugh seeing him try to retain some credibility if football grounds are filled to the rafters just 14 days after he reckoned April was too early for a street party.

Don't think he did.

May have asked if hospitality would have a reduction in isolation period though.

That would be peak shithousery - using the argument that football fans made about shutting the open-air stadiums to blame the football a second time.

Remember that bit in 'Of Mice and Men' when Lennie got all angry and aggressive, just thinking about what he'd do to the hypothetical cats if they ever got at his imagined rabbits.

I like that bit.

I'd say the raving Simps are akin to Lennie, tbh.
