Assuming NS follows Drakeford, if an anti-vaxxer was to question why I'd went and got three doses of the stuff, I'd no longer be able to argue the point.

Ex government advisor on bbc news this morning:

”what would you say to people who are triple vaccinated, testing regularly and have no symptoms who feel they are entitled to socialise or go to the pub?”

”being triple vaccinated doesn’t 100% stop you getting the virus”

FFS. Just fucking shut everything down forever then.

I'll be shocked and pleasantly surprised if we don't go the same way as Wales with regards to football etc. being behind closed doors.

Football, like hospitality, seems such an easy target to let politicians be seen to be doing something. It again comes back to the fact that we're very much at a point where people should be allowed to assess their own risk. If you don't feel "safe" being outdoors while also being double/triple jagged then frankly you'd be as well never leaving the house again.

I cut a promo on a Teams call at work yesterday basically saying the same thing.  Most were in agreement, notably the couple of guys I work with in their mid 60s, one of who has diabetes,  who said there's nothing else the public can do if you get triple jagged, life can't be restricted anymore.

I'd like to see some data for the real world impact that forcing Newport County against Swindon Town to be played behind closed doors will have on the Welsh NHS.

Just as I would expect to see the same if/when the FM follows suit up here.

Absolutely sick of the theatre.

It will increase it as folk go to pubs and other folks houses to take the games in.

Only reason I can think of cancelling bigger games is to free up emergency service resource, but that should be the given reason rather than outdoor events being places that have high transmission.

You would think the Edinburgh and Glasgow Hogmanay events must be in severe danger with London today announcing their big public events are cancelled.

There’s an almost zero chance Edinburgh’s street party goes ahead.  Even if it does, folk will be cancelling left, right and centre.

"How dare you challenge the dross my definitely-not-political shadow governance group regularly puts out".

That 'hopium' patter is awful. Makes her come across as a sneering, nasty fucker towards people who are, quite understandably, trying to find some positivity in the Covid darkness. I have to disregard her opinions in much the same way as I do the Covid-deniers.

Gething's snakey, hissy voice triggers me into oblivion. The fact the Welsh Government are top of the clown podium ahead of those up here and in London is quite an achievement.

I wonder if he will be crying when he sees Cardiff fans pack the away end at Bournemouth and West Brom

I’m surprised they didn’t bring in a ban on travel out of Wales at the same time, tbh.

Should have done that years ago. Might have stopped welshbairn.

The BBC reporting that “large events, such as Hogmanay street parties, concerts and major sporting events” could be for the chop to “free up emergency crews.”

I don’t know how they’re going to fund that if it happens.

So again they conceding that the NHS / emergency services are so underfunded and understaffed, that we need restrictions on our day to day lives to sort it?

A fucking shambles.
