So, as I suspected, a lecture about sticking with existing restrictions.

Was it though? If my bidey-in had tested positive last week, would I still be in a 10 day isolation period even with a negative PCR and double vaccination?  If not, then that's a change.

I fear that this particular complaint will not be an issue for much longer.

I'm not sure. The discussion in England is about a month behind the one here- given they are only just coming into line with Scotland via Plan B. By the time the discussion has moved on in England, I expect it will become apparent that Omicron won't in fact overwhelm the NHS.

A decent number of Tory MPs were absolutely furious about Plan B. I don't see them being too happy to fund NS's vanity project without concrete evidence to back up her claims RE: strain on the NHS .

At least I hope not. Absolutely praying he tells her to do one again.

Our Christmas night out is tomorrow night and the original number was 28. The advice from PHS and that front page of the sun has brought it down to 13 and more will inevitably cancel. Very few are worried about getting covid, it's all the fear of being told to isolate and a potential headline about NHS staff boozing whilst folk are dying in droves.

I'm really mentally drained by it all. We're effectively being guilted into not enjoying ourselves.

If Sunak has eyes on being PM, possibly sooner than he may have expected given the party fiasco, the last thing he wants to do is rile up those that could vote him into the hotseat.

On that basis alone, I reckon he’ll tell NS to shove it.

Got a Chistmas night out with the work on the 17th and one with mates on the 18th. If Sturgeon decides to close down before then we'll have a piss up in the work on the 17th and just go to someone's house for the 18th f**k this shit now.

I don't share your optimism there. Last year, the South East of England was put into Tier 3 and then immediately dumped into a newly-created Tier 4 the very next day.

Johnson is also in a very bad situation currently and will do anything he can to try and show he's in control after his attempts to deny a party took place in the building he lives in.

That briefing today has unfortunately set the tone.

Im sloghtly jealous of the mindset that allows folk to claim there was nothing in that today.

A whole industry has effectively been told that the govt are actively lobbying to shut them down and will do so at the first opportunity.

An entire population has been told/guilt tripped to think about what socialising is neccessary, at Christmas time, nearly two years into restrictions on socialising that have shown limited efficacy, because of a different variant* of a virus that almost certainly wont affect them any worse than a cold.

How much of the population was goven a vaccine for the benefit of others and not themselves?

Il save Wee bully the bother here too......

"HAHAHAHAHAHA MOONHOWLING HAHAHAH"

*that the emerging evidence all says is significanrly less severe.

Thanks mate.  Saved me the bother
