The businesses surely won't have to verify an LFT.

The LFT test will be registered online and that registration will be linked to the digital ID app giving the specimen X hours of access to society.

Who's going to pay for it? The headlines will either be "Sturgeon charges £20 to go to the pub" or "Sturgeon pays for anti vaxxers to go to the pub."

The taxpayer is already paying for the government's society-wide obsession with getting people to take a LFT twice weekly, and if you're going out, and if you're ever planning to meet anyone.

Once that racket gets wrapped up and the OCD brigade have to actually pay for testing themselves then we will officially be beyond the insane stage of treating this endemic disease.

It seems many on here still believe that you will need a vaccine passport or LFT "to go to the pub" and I am sure the tabloid press will delight in putting out that message even if it is utter nonsense. Nothing has changed today for a visit to the pub.

Seeing as it’s all Bill Gates idea he can stump up for it.  Christ knows the c**t is rich enough and £20 a skull is a small price to pay for his drone army.

It must be depressing living life thinking everything is a conspiracy to turn us all into extras from the matrix.  Genuinely don’t know how people can read Detournments pish.

That’s simply not true. A significant number of unvaccinated people can now go to the pub after midnight with an LFT test from December 6th.

Whether that test is free or at their own expense is yet to be established.

A significant number of unvaccinated people can go to the pub right now if they want, there's no vaccination or testing restrictions on pubs now and there won't be on December 6th.

Are you saying that unvaccinated people can not go to a pub prior to midnight on 6th December?

There are no vaccine passports for pubs (under 500 capacity and not open after midnight) You dont need a vaccine passport or an LFT before or after midnight on 6th December....as I said nothing has changed regarding going to the pub....maybe you werent listening

After midnight was the important part to note. I should have mentioned with a dance floor though as in the hybrid pub / club places.

Stop being pedantic. Unvaccinated people cannot enter a hybrid pub / club after midnight at the moment. That is absolute fact.

If you meant a nightclub why didnt you say so first time round....this discussion was regarding visits to a pub......vast majority will not require a vaccine passport not LFT

Tbh there are loads of pubs that become sort of nightclubs later in the evening given it now applies to anywhere with a dance floor after midnight.

They were always pubs before and definitely not nightclubs in the true sense. They still are not nightclubs other than for the ridiculous SG categorisation.

To be even more pedantic, you didn't say hybrid pub / club, you just said pub, for which there is no restrictions.

Yeah that was my mistake, but broadly my point still stands.

How did South Korea escape the pandemic relatively unaffected economically, with deaths at such low levels, while now vaccinating at such a high level that it has protected itself from future waves of illness and harsh lockdowns? That’s the question we should all be asking, and a clear vindication of the “zero Covid” approach as the optimal short-term strategy.

There are plenty of pubs which used to stay open after 12.

I love how New Zealand's idea of "reopening tourism" is that only fully vaccinated tourists can enter AND they still have to self-isolate for 7 days on arrival.

Get that shit launched in the bin. It's like they're still living in 2020. Should be a lateral flow test two days before the flight and a second one at the airport when you land and nothing else. Won't stop every case but the rest of the world is done trying to stop every case.
