Basically the only difference is fully vaxxed folk can go to 'amber-list' countries.

If the testing gubbins doesn't change soon then the Scottish and UK recovery in aviation, tourism and the wider economy will continue to lag behind the EU. Depends how long Tory mates think they can keep their licenses to print money, and how long diddy administrations like the Scottish Government continue to endorse it by default.

The 2nd test seems pointless especially for short trips,  a few people I know who travelled to Scotland already didnt even get the results for it until a few days after they were back in the EU. If they are like that whenhardly anyone is travelling what sort backlog is it going to be when more and more travel.

Knowing that the SG can't enforce another lockdown is an extremely liberating feeling.

Leitch is now talking about turning off bits of society.

I wonder what bits of society he wants to turn off.....

They'll wait till cases plateau before doing anything. That way they can maintain the facade that it is their arbitrary interventions that made the difference.

ETA they have the same problem I highlighted yesterday - the most proportionate response is to do something with schools, and they have pledged to do everything possible to avoid doing so.

Limiting crowds at football matches, for example, will do little to slow the spread amongst school kids.

England down for 3rd day in a row.

UK down for 2nd day.

Looks like Northern Ireland even now turned the corner.

Wales rises continue to be small.

Scotland the exception now.

English schools back next week might see that change.

They should just let it rattle through school kids so the schools have immunity before winter hits.

Without indulging in your conspiracies, they probably are doing that on the sly, it would take a foolhardy politician to come out publicly and say “ let the waens git it , it’s fur thur aine guid!”
Especially after 18 months of deadly virus stop the spread follow the rules etc
