Remember the virus running rampant through the population around April/May time then plummeting like a stone in as many months A recent blood test study in India actually concluded that they had reached herd immunity 70% (and not via vaccinations). Cases and deaths were massively under reported previously. That is believed to be a factor in the 80% fall in cases.
Theroadlesstravelled
A mix is good. I hate being stuck in the office all day. That’s way worse than being stuck at home. At home I can knock one out whenever I want. It’s way harder at work.

Rizzo
Wondering if anyone has any experience of having a relative/loved one in hospital with suspected covid and what the deal is with visiting? Know someone who was admitted on Wednesday this week with chest infection that had been going on for a few weeks but was consistently returning negative LF tests and one PCR test. Said person had another underlying bowel condition so was admitted to forth valley for supportive treatment on Wednesday. He also had a PCR test when he was admitted and that has come back negative too. His partner had been able to visit in the clinical assessment ward and today he was moved to general medicine but when she phoned to check if she could visit was told that he was a suspected covid case due to changes noted in a chest x-ray and she should avoid visiting. She has to test regularly with LF tests as she works in a school. Is there any scope for her being able to visit does anyone know? She's also been consistently testing negative and has shown no symptoms despite them being in the same household.

Elixir
There is now convincing evidence that immunity from natural infection is indeed actually superior to that provided by vaccination. Fantastic news, but also quite hilarious how many 'experts' were acting like this was some new alien super bug that would remain this deadly forever and that immunity would wane after three months.
Billy Jean King
It's a wee bit more complicated than that... Meanwhile, cases continue to drop in England: [/url] You dont think England will explode like we have in 2-3 weeks when the schools go back ? If they don't serious questions need to be asked why we are seeing the massive growth in infections over the last 10-14 days. We appear to be a world wide outlier now and if schools returning elsewhere dont lead to rises like ours then we need to know what is fuelling the huge increases.

Imo the huge increase is because we’ve opened schools and everything else at the same time. Even opening on July 19th would’ve given 3 more weeks for nightclubs etc to bed in. Remember we were still actually in level 0.5 until 2 weeks ago with pubs having to close early and social distancing.
