Hopefully NS takes the falling case rates into consideration rather than the death rate when it comes to 9th August.

No point basing the keeping of restrictions in 17 days on the number of people who may go on to die that have, for all intents and purposes, already caught it - nothing will change for those people either way.

Aye but until everyone is sufficiently vaccinated they can demand a test like they are currently requesting we take twice a week become mandatory and uploaded to your COVID app.

We don't have a 'Covid app' in Scotland, certainly not one that is used on a widespread basis.

Case numbers and hospital numbers are down again.

ICU numbers aren't down though. 58 today having been 51 yesterday and 47 a week ago. I expect they'll start to come down soon.

Is there any info on the average length of time people will spend in ICU with Covid? I can only find numbers on hospital stays rather than specifically ICU.

2nd vaccine appointment has come through.

I've been playing it safe since my first jag and only licking the occasional bus stop and door handle but it won't be much longer and I can get back to licking peoples faces again.

Just been for 2nd jag and nursey told me how to access the App thing to see your vaccination status, however she did say that this "might" be accepted by "some" countries as proof of vaccination if wanting a holiday ??

So, my question to the forum is does anyone know if the Scottish NHS vaccination certification / app has been signed off as the same status / standing as the English version ? and is this widely known throughout Europe by their border control etc ??

I'm only asking as I wouldn't want a "aah, but we don't accept Scottish notes, just English" sort of scenario which I'm sure we've all encountered at some point in the past !!

Daily Cases Update:  Day 16 of dropping cases and down an excellent near 5% to 242.5     Infectivity drops to 8.3% and looking at todays numbers does appear to be falling.   The top 17 councils all have healthy falls.  As I remarked yesterday I suspect we will reach a "bottom" that is far higher than when in lockdown. I estimate around 200 cases per 100K.  This is born out by many of the councils currently around this mark or lower that are up and down in the numbers.

Total Cases Scotland 7 days from 13th July to 19th July  were  13,923 now 13,256 down 4.79%.  Positivity was 8.6%  now 8.3%.   Cases per 100k were  254.8 now 242.5

Home Nations Daily update  :  UK Average 440.2 to 472.3 up 7.29%, England 473.5 to 510.9 up 7.90%, Wales  205.2 to 210.9 up 2.77%, Northern Ireland  294.1 to 337.7 up 14.82%

Really kicking off in Northern Ireland where cases have risen 45% in 3 days.

England now romping clear in Europe, followed by Netherlands, Spain, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Portugal & Wales.  The vast majority of Europe has had no 3rd wave.  Poland still at 1.8, Germany 11.3 etc

Latest European figures today.  Netherlands  404.3 to 383.8 , Spain 372.1 to 381.1 , Portugal 224.7 to 226.9, Greece 180.2 to 180.6, Ireland 152.9 to 163.4, France 125.1

Scotland peaks in Wave 3 at 425.1 for 27th June to 3rd July, (UK was 229.9) . Cases that day were 23,222 and positivity 10.8%

Scotland previously peaked in wave 2 at 301.9 for figures 29th Dec to 4th Jan, (UK was 642.1)    Cases that day were 16,496 and test positivity rate was 11.9%

You definitely want the printed version they post out to you, the download version looks like notepad file you typed yourself. It was accepted fine in Spain a few weeks ago, eventually we'll be able to upload our proof to the European Covid Passport app and use that.

Tons of information in the excellent reports from the Scottish Intensive Care Society Audit Group. Various reports available. Way much more info than you want/need I suspect. Link to a recent report is below.

Had to go out & get some semi-smart clothes for something at fairly short notice. Tried close to 10 different places & all of them nae fitting rooms cause that's corporate keeping me safe or something.
