It seems vaguely like the caring and compassionate thing to do, to call for caution, but ultimately, i'm not actually sure what it is we have to wait for, and what improvements in the overall outcome can be delivered. I can only really conclude from it that its more about not being seen as reckless, or being seen to be cautious, than it is about any tangible, clear reasoning for doing it.

Those calling for a delay possibly just haven't grasped the reality that near enough every single human on the planet will contract Covid-19 sooner rather than later, and will continue to do so for as long as humans live. Thankfully, right now and over time we have these things called vaccines which work extremely well in the overwhelming majority of cases at preventing you from experiencing symptoms any worse than a cold - remember those? It will likely be Covid's long term future post mass global inoculation via vaccination and/or infection.
strichener
Good to see Humza instigating a review of the case. Although no decision has been made he is at least acknowledging that there may be a need to show a little compassion and flexibility. Better late than never and hopefully a decision will be made in time to allow a daughter to see her terminally ill father before he passes.

They are quite clever and absolutely deliberate in it. They avoid censure by producing what appears to be a reasonably decent article, but then hide it behind a sensationalist clickbait headline, knowing most will barely read beyond that.

Elixir
I see the Scottish Government are going along with the UK Government's nonsensical, Brexit-influenced decision to quarantine fully vaccinated travellers from France. Rather than endorsing the fundamental EU principle of freedom of movement across the continent. Two governments as utterly risible and tinpot as each other, but I'm sure the simps will still try and find some way of reasoning this away. Decisions like this won't just be forgotten or airbrushed from history once the pandemic is over. They will be remembered. An independent Scotland within the EU? Well, here was a chance to finally become more aligned, but no. Oh well.

Thereisalight..
Cant believe the plaudits that clown Humza is getting for doing something that any person with compassion, empathy and a heart would do. It's a shame so many in the governments/advisors lack that

doulikefish
Just pure luck that Bojo and Sunak have been randomly selected just like Gove to contact trace daily so they can continue working Mad how they just don't say we are the government so basically need to work so we will take part in the contact trace trail instead of telling folk they have been "randomly" selected

They say that Johnson’s Freedom Day lifting of measures that other countries still have in place would have “a profoundly damaging impact on England”. Australia’s Stephen Duckett, a former secretary of his country’s health department, says: “There is no reputable public health advisor who would advise opening up at a time when the virus is spreading rapidly.” Ah, the meeting of all like-minded Political Independent SAGE types that could be scraped together from across the globe. Again, it's a shame they don't seem to know that the bodies aren't piling up on the streets in places like the US.
