How much better can vaccination go? America is fine. Everything went back to normal months ago. The vaccine makes it 10 times less likely to be infected but I would imagine this would mean you wouldn't test + We would also want to isolate positive cases for the time being, 1 it helps promote the vaccine 2 it helps protect the unvaccinated. The PCR test identifies viral fragments. A person who's immune system has beaten the virus would still have detectable viral fragments, meaning they could test positive, become a "case" and all the isolation and close contact stuff PCR testing is not useful for determining whether or not someone with no symptoms is infected or infectious.

And it seems she could have visited her Dad from managed quarantine in Scotland. The BBC article doesn't say when she left the UAE but it's likely she'd be approaching the 10 days by now, having already spent time with her Dad, if she'd just flown direct. Now she seems to be complaining about the green to amber shift in Mallorca which means she'll still have to self isolate in Scotland, staying with her family and still being able to spend time with her Dad. The BBC article is very skewed. This is a shocker of a post. Read it back and think about what you're saying.

Regardless if her actions I think it shows us in a poor light that there is no way of allowing her back in, even if they had said travel under your own steam she could get a boat to Barcelona and drive for 2/3 days. Hardly ideal but worth it to see her dad.
