They’ll still get voted in at the next election though.

Indy uber alles for many people. Who cares if the economy is wrecked and folks mental as well as physical health is suffering. Who cares if cancer sufferers are either too afraid to get an appt and inconvenience the covid hype, or the waiting list is a mile long. None of that matters, just a vote for SNP and therefore indy

Yes all too easy to imagine that. Finances will dictate otherwise I suspect.

LL is great at imagining loads of things (for instance, Edinburgh back in Level 3 and the fanzone being teetotal both spring to mind).

Utter riddy that we'll still be preserving with 500 crowds at Prem stadiums when the season begins

Surely everywhere will be at least level 1 by the start of the season, which is 1,000 crowds.

Still nonsense, though.

Hibs have made a request to get 5,000 fans in for our friendly v Arsenal in a few weeks time. No chance that happens.

*Vaccines are the route to normality*

*We just don't know how effective they'll be*

*World leading vaccination programme. Vaccine efficacy much greater than expected*

*VARIANTS!*

*Vaccines work against variants*

*YOU CAN STILL GET IT AND SPREAD IT!

*Repeat: vaccines work against variants*

*THERE WILL BE MORE VARIANTS! WE JUST DON'T KNOW!

*Yet another delay*

It is utterly pathetic. A time honoured pattern of rinse and repeat. It'll be the same come the 19th of July as well, and the usual suspects like Pagel and Gurdasani will start their sniping in around 10 days' time.

Exactly. Fans should have been back when the elderly and vulnerable were vaccinated. Carrying on with restrictions till every man and their dog has been double dosed and boostered will be a brass neck

It really is no wonder that many young people arent having the vaccine as they think there is no point as restrictions will remain. A woeful message the governments have put out

I’ve asked this a number of times and not had an answer, but can anyone actually tell me, tin foil hatters aside ( that means you detournement) a Bona fide reason why the government would actually want to keep restrictions in place for longer than necessary in their mind, given the damage it is doing to all sorts of areas?

Because they made such a monumental c**t of it last year and caused thousands of un-necessary deaths they’re paralysed with fear of doing the same again.

They refuse to accept that, like seasonal flu, tens of thousands of people will die every year from Covid.

That may be the case in Scotland.  That certainly isn’t the messaging coming out of Westminster.  Maybe not tens of thousands but they do at least acknowledge that this isn’t going away and people will continue to die from it.

Aye it’ll definitely be less that seasonal flu as the flu vaccine isn’t as effective, even with the yearly boosters. So effectively less people will die from Covid than from the flu.  Why do we accept the flu kills peoples but not Covid?

Just heard Prof Sikora make exactly that point on GB News.

He reckons we should take to the streets and do our own thing.
