Coronavirus (COVID-19)

NHS trusts in England being told to start differentiating between those in hospital with COVID and those in hospital because of COVID.
About time. Hopefully we adopt the same approach up here before long.

Prior to the Delta variant, yes.

With the Delta though you really do need that second dose.

It was always the case that you needed the second shot to be fully vaccinated.  The second jag strengthens both the effectiveness and longevity of protection.  It did need less strengthening prior to the Indian variant though.  The first shot worked roughly twice as well on prior variants.

Looks like they have refused too !

I can’t see the NHS being keen on publishing the figure as it will show the number of people who are going into hospital for a knee op or hip replacement and catching covid in the hospital.

If true there should be uproar about it. This should have been happening well before now, but if they refuse then it’s genuinely at risk of becoming a coverup scenario.

Wouldn't necessarily mean they caught it IN the hospital given you get tested ahead of admission assuming it's routine and not emergency.

This atmosphere at Edgbaston is absolutely fucking tremendous. Anyone who says cricket is shite get it on and hear the crowd singing.

Always a good atmosphere at Edgbaston.  They must be pleased to be back.  They’ve been singing since the morning session.

If they guarantee the weans will wear the gown and hat, walk across the stage to collect their diploma, and are videoed jumping and throwing the hats in the air, I'll sign the petition.*

See further down it says care home residents to start having to wear masks in communal areas?
Wtf
They’re all double dosed
Their carers are all double dosed
Its 18 months into the pandemic
The horse has bolted long long ago
Half of them won’t understand what’s going on
We should be looking to start lifting mask rules sooner rather than later

Did i ever mention that non ffp3 masks do absolutely f**k all to prevent the spread of covid?

So how did partially vaccinated vulnerable elderly with extremely low immune systems in care homes survive the outbreaks in the first couple of months of the year?

How did people survive the first wave when there were no vaccines at all? Lockdowns, social distancing and the rest of it.
