Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Mongolia is shooting up the vaccine charts.

Clearly this is part of the long game. As the West dithers with using Tinder to persuade youngsters to get the jab, the Mongol horde regroups and takes back the territory it once held, reestablishing the Khanate. I for one welcome our new Mongol horsemen overlords.

I heard the hospitality guy on radio. His argument was that fanzones will mean a breakout of cases, and Glasgow back to level 3. He was quite hysterical about it.

Yip and twice he said Glasgow Green will be "rammed" with "little or no control" yet the interverviewer never took him to task on it. He then brought the bold Leitch into it saying he hoped he would do "the right thing" and stop it. Bitter twat.

Do these fucking losers forget that outdoor transmission, especially in summer, just isn't really a thing and never will be?

At least the 'Outer Mongolia variant' is now less likely!

What are they terrified of?  Do they know of a super variant that the laughs at the vaccine that all of us don't?

Edit - Also why are they vaccinating people in hospital corridors?

Kiwi's aren't allowed near the general population.  Not enough of them have been vaccinated.

A ridiculously disingenuous argument from the Glasgow hospitality industry man

Should have asked me.  Where do they find those c***s.

I dont know any staff who are of that view.

Have you ever been interviewed by press for anything, because this is how the conversation will have went: is anyone here afraid of easing lockdown rules? Great! Do you have a few minutes to talk to us?

That's usually how these things go. They don't take an opinion poll, they ask for volunteers to suit the story they've already written up.

The SG has set up a tiered restriction scheme across all sectors of the economy. If it wants to have mass gatherings in fanzones then it can drop the levels for Glasgow and indeed the rest of the country to relax restrictions across all sectors of the economy.

Why should an exception be made for a mass gathering connected to a football tournament in Glasgow Green?

Not too bad figures. Going with travellingtabby website:

Intensive Care +4
Hospital +8

Terrifies.

It 'terrifies' NHS staff (and I'm sure this quote doesn't apply to all NHS staff) mainly because the NHS and the government have created years of utter chaos by pushing every other single disease.....cancer, heart problems, chronic illnesses, mental health etc..... completely into the background, and have concentrated all resources into their Covid response.

If I worked in the NHS, I'd be fucking terrified about the tens of thousands about to beat a path to my door with illnesses and complaints that have been fermenting for the last 16 months.

Yeah I’m sure last weekend’s hospital rise was from 90 to 110 so that’s much better than I was expecting.

Pisses me off they don’t show hospital numbers on Sat/Sun. They are the headline statistics

A couple of pals of mine work for the NHS in fairly senior positions who are both prone to bouts of Lovejoy-itis.

I reckon it's less about worrying about their workloads going sky high, more that they want to be seen as being more caring, to the point where one advocated a zero COVID approach recently.

I'm glad we've got the NHS, but there's a tendency to overemphasise the importance of some of their individual voices and it's assumed that they must be listened to, partly because of the appreciation they've had of late. Just as likely to get Lovejoys and shit the beds amongst them as you are with anyone else, whatever the reality of their potential workload is.

...a fucking sumo wrestler.

Sumo wrestlers are actually quite fit and healthy in general despite their size. Bit of an insult to the profession to stick the garden variety obese person in with them.
