The barber I go to are doing purely walk ins. There’s no waiting in the barbers itself. You go to the door, they hand you a pager, and you wait outside/in your car until the pager goes off and in you go.

My barbers aren't even taking bookings and are doing walk ins.

finally a bit of balance from the industry , social distancing is not some wee adjustment we must learn to live with from now on, it makes the everyday things that make life worth living fucking near impossible.

Was just reading this. The Scottish Government taking yet another shit on the businesses of this country.

Read that earlier. Not sure what made the business owner think that 1m SD between members of different households wouldn't be a thing when they reopened. It was always going to be the situation at least initially and it's the same as in England.

Reading the article it suggests than in England tables need to be 1m apart, whereas in Scotland it will apply to people from different households, even at the same table.

The wee turkish barbers i go to just get you to write your appointment in a note pad as you turn up, great bunch of lads.
In the local paper here 3 (all Turkish / Iranian) have been issued a warning by trading standards for not following regs by allowing customers to queue sitting inside. The businesses have played the race card though which is simply idiotic. One of them was fined for opening during lockdown so would have been watched closely.

I'd much rather make an appointment right now than stand 10 deep in a queue outside to be honest

Definitely 2m or 1m+ with mitigation for the reopening in England where customers were not part of the same household or bubble.

I find it hard to believe any bar or restaurant owner in Scotland thought they would be reopening without SD for people outwith the same household / bubble. Local press and news has been full of articles showing businesses making their premises "covid secure" ahead of reopening. Yes many have been moaning about it but not seen any until that article today who were surprised they needed to.

South of the border people can now visit bars and restaurants outdoors but must either follow the rule of six, or be in a group of any size with no more than two households present. Tables must be socially distanced

That doesn't sound like this 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yet the drive for independence is still on.  What are we going to have left in an independent country? No travel industry, no hospitality industry, no entertainment industry people in perpetual fear from the latest, possible, might be variant.

This was the updated guidelines (this month) on gov.uk

Calculating the maximum number of customers that can reasonably follow social distancing guidelines (2m, or 1m+ with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable) at the venue. Taking into account total outdoor space, specific venue characteristics such as furniture as well as likely pinch points and busy areas.

Reconfiguring outdoor seating and tables to maintain social distancing guidelines (2m, or 1m+ with risk mitigation where 2m is not viable) between groups of customers. For example, increasing the distance between tables.

Managing the entry of customers, and the number of customers at a venue, so that all customers are seated with appropriate distancing. This is to ensure that the venue, including areas of congestion does not become overcrowded. Managing entry numbers can be done, for example, through reservation systems, social distancing markings, having customers queue at a safe distance for toilets or bringing payment machines to customers, where possible.

That's a really good drop in ICU patients. We're getting tantalisingly close to under 100 in hospital. Surely tomorrow has to be the day...?

What's it like in North Korea? I think it would be appealing to the perpetual lockdown fetishists who sook out the Scottish Government's arsehole no matter what.
