And younger generations, I'm mid 20s and can't see me getting offered a vaccine any time soon, so all the pensioners run about daft whereas anyone under the age of 30 aren't allowed to go anywhere for the foreseeable.

Not that I agree with it, but the suggestion is that you would also be able to take a test as well so it's not specifically vaccines only - that would probably get it past any equality law issues.

It's still discrimination though. Taking a test once a week would be an 260 quid tax on going out and it would kill any spontaneous socialising like a pint after work.

If you’ve had covid but not the vaccine wouldn’t that put you at risk for testing positive for a good while after you’re not infectious?

It depends how many cycles they do on the test. Presumably athlete's private tests have less cycles than a standard NHS test to stop this happening.

It's possible that the current difference between Scotland and England is down to test cycles. The NHS in Scotland don't keep a record of cycle volume but if you wanted to raise cases You would simply test all samples to the 45 cycle maximum.

Yes, more layers is definitely what we need after this. Especially with Jennie "test and trace is not an appropriate intervention and face masks make Covid worse" Harries at the helm. Nice work if you can get it despite leaving a pile of fail in your wake.

The Politics For All account is controlled by the CCHQ or another party aligned to the government.

I'm in Italy and I had a positive test on 10th March and had to isolate for 10 days. I then got tested again on Saturday there which was still positive. I have had to isolate again for 10 days. They have said that I can go out 21 days after the initial positive result though, as long as I don't have symptoms (with the exception of loss of taste & smell).

Not sure if it's a different interpretation of the science.

Well aware this isn't news, but who would've thought that electing an actual fascist would lead to absolute national disaster while being told by said fascist to basically ignore it. Brazil in Sacha Baren Cohen "fake dictator" levels of incompetent leadership right now. An absolute tragedy in so many peoples' lives, and this dude tells them to stop whining about it. Genuinely a black comedy at this point.

Mark Zuckerberg is pretty much responsible for his rise to power, hopefully when he's dislodged the incoming leader can get Mark down for some very scary questioning.

The FBI played a large role in the prosecution of Lula which has recently been overturned. This led directly to Bolsonaro winning the election.

And Bolsonaro going to the CIA headquarters immediately after being elected gives the game away.

I wasn't asked my opinion for this poll, but it's perhaps not surprising that the support for this is around the percentage of adults currently vaccinated, plus a few Helen Lovejoy weirdos.

People have been asked to give up the things they enjoy for over a year now, in order to keep others safe. If vaccine passports are marketed as the way to get those things back in a couple of months time, people, particularly those who have already been jagged, are going to put themselves first and say yes.

ETA That isn't an endorsement of vaccine passports.

The Kiwis are ok but barring Australians from entering any country seems like a good idea.

Except Kylie. She can stay.

No there are limits on how many Australians can enter Australia every day, how many New Zealanders can enter NZ. This has led to flights only accepting first class passengers and has priced many citizens out of returning home.

The article VT linked to is about NZ prioritising citizens who want to come home long term rather than for a holiday. Obviously Jacinda still left a get out for people wealthy enough to buy their way in and out.

If domestic vaccine passports become law (which I don't think they will) then you really have no choice but to get one if you want a normal life.  If they're voluntary them any premises that asks me for one simply won't be getting my business.  There will be enough outlets in all sectors out there desperate for business that I can use instead.
