Empty It
Possibly another lockdown later this year. This is never ending is it. Stop being greedy, you'll get your 2 week summer holiday where you're allowed to leave your local area even though nothing will be open before the winter lockdown.

Billy Jean King
Staycations maybe allowed in the summer omg so quick. That was a bizarre statement. She has been at pains to emphasise that in their opinion the virus was "re-seeded" last year via travel from abroad. If we are banning travel to / from abroad then why would there be an issue opening up domestically if the biggest perceived "threat" has to all intents and purposes been eliminated. Add in a vaccine rollout and none of this uber caution makes much sense in a domestic sense.
stumigoo
The line about being more cautious than last year is the saddest bit for me.f**k sake.
Empty It
Oh well that's any tiny shred of a chance of voting SNP completely out the window now.
Moonglum25
Will be interesting to see at this time with a pandemic if she closes parliament for the May election. I would assume that getting back to near normality is a priority rather than holding an election.

Billy Jean King
The majority will be ignoring that and rightly so. They really won't as has been proved throughout this crisis. Complicity is very high it would be a tiny minority like it has been throughout.

Billy Jean King
NS has been speaking for about 15 minutes and I still have no idea if I am being advised to stay off work beyond February 28th. I think I am, but it's genuinely not like her to not be crystal clear. No change other than schools as announced. As you were, very clear.
Bairnardo
That pre amble there was Lovejoy Bingo manVariantsTrade offsMore like normalSomething approaching normalAvoid future lockdown Just f**k off. The touting of future lockdown in particular is a joke. These c***s need to be taken to court over this as soon as the case numbers allow it. AH'LL TELL YE THIS NOW..... Theres absolutely no fucking way I will ever respect rules imposed only household again for covid, unless the hospitals are quite literally bursting at the seams. She is absolutely expecting to react to an increase in cases at any future point with lockdown etc. Asymptomatic testing in Spetember shows a 6% positivity rate, shut the whole lot down [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] NS is crossing over into Sanctimonious zoomer territory I'm afraid.

Marshmallo
I think this points to something getting eased consistently every three weeks, nothing sooner. The caveat to that will be if/when the schools drive infection numbers back up as they did consistently in the second half of 2020. I think you're going to be looking at May before anything like gyms or cafes open again. -

101
How will this be a tenable position when there are a dozen of folk in hospital? Very grim news
