100% agree with AstraZenica/Oxford, if it works, as the virus mutates and UK based vaccine too.

It's also just a bit easier to manage from a logistics point of view.

But either way, we have a vaccine! This is good news! Things will eventually go back to normal!

The 4 health boards still spewing out over 83.5% of todays positive tests. All those tier 3 councils should be showing a reduction in their overall contribution by now. More fuel to get the worst ones into tier 4 tomorrow. I will report the daily council stats later when released to 6th November.

Yes. Some light on the horizon. It's been incredibly quick.

World Health Organisation has agreements in place with almost all nations that vaccines will be made available to each nation (regardless of power/size) and 25% of each population to be targeted as soon as practically possible. Presumably the head of the queue will be medics, elderly, severely health impaired, essential workers, etc.

If you can vaccinate the elderly and frontline health workers, then you're going to have significantly less pressure on your health service, which could lead to some restrictions being rolled back and never returning.

Hopefully, anyway.

Trying to work out the worst affected area of Scotland currently I believe it might be Burnbank Central & Udston. Any pandbers know the zone well. Lovely looking Fish and Chip shop Marini's

Also anyone got a freezer that goes down to minus 80 for our vaccines ?

Possibly Marini's if they ditch the mock chops

BoJo press conference at 5. What's the betting he announces that as soon as the last data comes in officially, at the end of next week, he's granting emergency regulatory approval to the Oxford/Astra-Zeneca vaccine...

Staunch.

I believe it is one of the most deprived areas in SLC and has lots of high density council houses.

That’s not within his remit. Only the regulator is allowed to do that.

An announcement that the regulator is expected to approve it then. They will want it out first, and the Pfizer announcement could be construed as that company trying to "win" that expectations game.

Johnson has dropped a nod to his pals on the city, the FTSE is taking a turn for the better.

I think the news from Pfizer has boosted stock markets around the world, as opposed to any expectation of an announcement from Boris.

Although apparently Zoom shares have dropped by 5%.

It's worth considering what an incredible scientific achievement it is to have a vaccine in 11 months.

Must be up there with some of the greatest achievements in humanity you'd think.

Right alongside Ross Tokely imo.
