Was putting stuff in the car this morning and still had my mask on, when some daft women shouts "hey love, you know can wear anything on your face you know, it's not about health, it's about compliance". WTF??

Was it last week Fiona Hyslop was encouraging us to do our Christmas shopping early this year? And then this week the shops will be getting shut?

90% of prescriptions are free across the whole UK. It makes no sense to set up a scheme to means test very few people in Scotland. When the wider health benefits are accounted for I believe free prescriptions actually saves money overall.
Free eye test probably pay for themselves if they stop one serious road accident a year.

Correct the cost of means testing any benefit is enormous and in many instances would simply outweigh the benefit it was intended to provide.

This is an interesting phenomenon (at least in my mind). The Telegraph...a paper I've always hated....is rabidly anti-lockdown. It attacks the government on a daily basis and rarely prints 'gloom and doom' stories. It's headlines are all about vaccines, and how the virus effects a tiny minority of the population.

The Guardian on the other hand...my broadsheet of choice.....is scaremonger central, with hourly updates on how many have died worldwide and how we must all live in caves forever and ever.

I find myself edging towards The Telegraph's viewpoint and frankly I virtually ignore the headlines in The Guardian. It's all very unsettling.

So no need for tighter measures now as the JRS will be available to any devolved government as and when required. Difficult for the Clown Troop to wriggle out of that after it goes on the record in the Commons.

If I was being very cynical I may think that this is all a ploy.  Pretend to fall out with Johnson, he recants and they can then say how much influence the Scottish Torries have with the government and are proud scots standing up for Scotland.

If I was being very cynical I may think that this is all a ploy.  Pretend to fall out with Johnson, he recants and they can then say how much influence the Scottish Torries have with the government and are proud scots standing up for Scotland. 

My thoughts too.

If I remember Dallas Buyers Club and Angels In America* correctly, your T cells are cells that work as part of your immune system, identifying and destroying foreign bodies, viruses etc. So the idea behind T cell immunity is that if your T cells have learned how to deal with Covid after having been infected they’ll remember if you get infected again and nip it in the bud. Thus people who don’t have antibodies have immunity from the disease.

* Unfreated HIV infection destroys T cells and I think perhaps T cell receptors in the human body which is what causes AIDS, when your bodies immune system stops working and you die from infections that most people’s immune systems squash like a fly.
