Sturgeon will get criticism for whatever she imposes because people are sick of complying. 100%, we're all following the same policies as would the opposition parties if they were in power.

NotThePars
It’s a testament to the SNP’s political competency that they can do the same drip drip hints and behind the scenes media briefings as the Tories down south but have retained far greater plausible deniability about doing it and have had almost zero blowback. They’re the shrewdest party in the UK by a margin.

Guest
From tomorrow morning all cafes and bars in the capital city and its surrounding region are being instructed to shut down for a month. Drinking alcohol outdoors will also be banned. The local rules come on top of new national rules, which limit the size of individual social bubbles to four people – it had been five until today. Sorry, this is Brussels before anyone flies into a blind panic !!! Edited October 7, 2020 by WATTOO
effeffsee_the2nd
You say that in jest, but when drink-driving laws were introduced there were similar protests against it infringing on people's liberty. Also happened when mandatory seatbelts became law.Pretty much any law that banns a widespread and mostly acceptable practice ( regardless of reasoning) is usually met with men going through the 5 stages of loss

Bairnardo
Not sure why folk continue to bleat that they have learned nothing since the first lockdown. They have certainly learned that locking down is effective only in preventing the NHS being overwhelmed. Further, expensive lockdown for several weeks to drive the cases to almost zero in Scotland achieved the square root of f**k all, despite the cost being enormous, and indeed in a lot of ways yet to be seen. Presumably that's why we arent locking down again, and the Scottish Government have accepted that transmission and cases is utterly unavoidable.

dirty dingus
Was talking to a couple of pals in Australia one in WA, one in Queensland and it seems they have pretty much got back to normal in those states with 75% capacity (40k) allowed at next months state of origin match. The main restriction is having to stay in your state. Would people here accept a hard lockdown for 3-4 weeks then have no travel in or out of Scotland once the virus is supressed so we can get back to pretty much normality? Would Westminster accept this as a way to drive out the virus?
