I recently learned that Xi was banished to one of the remote provinces during the Cultural Revolution which if true must make his rise to the top of the Chinese Communist Party genuinely one of the most impressive in history Edited October 6, 2020 by NotThePars

DeeTillEhDeh
The lockdown restrictions that you support have led to 40,000 non covid excess deaths in homes and care homes in the U.K. and likely saved no-one. SAGE estimates that we will end up with 75,000 collateral deaths in the U.K. and around the world, millions will die as a result. And millions of people will lose their livelihoods. The selfish ones are those who worked from home on full pay whilst passing their risk from covid onto lower income groups and the vulnerable. And Sweden’s welfare system has no relevance whatsoever. Tell you what - why don't you f**k off somewhere with zero restrictions and be a wee lab rat there?

Scary Bear
10 minutes ago, Chairman Mao said: I’m not comparing Sweden to Scotland here. I’m comparing Sweden with itself. Despite there being a pandemic and despite Sweden not locking down, mortality over there this year is normal. Lockdown was not necessary. You only need to look at countries in South America who went into lockdown before the U.K. but have only now reached the peak. Whoever wishes to investigate medicine properly should proceed thus: in the first place to consider the seasons of the year … Hippocrates Why bring up Sweden then? If they aren’t comparable countries in terms of things like health of the nation then why mention them. Is it just to highlight one country who didn’t lockdown and it made no major difference to the Covid death toll? You could be right that going into lockdown achieved nothing but given the general health of people in Scotland, it could have led to a higher death toll. We’ll never know. Or maybe we will get another chance to see how not locking down goes over the Winter.

Miguel Sanchez
1 hour ago, Chairman Mao said: “Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.” ― C.S. Lewis, God in the Dock: Essays on Theology (Making of Modern Theology) shut the f**k up and f**k the f**k off you tedious c**t

Let the sensible majority quietly work their way through this, it’s the only option. I saw that. Absolutely disgusting especially when they’d all travelled together in the hearse. These “powers” have certainly went to some people’s heads.
welshbairn
1 hour ago, Chairman Mao said: The selfish ones are those who worked from home on full pay whilst passing their risk from covid onto lower income groups and the vulnerable. Which happened in Sweden to an even greater extent than here. Anyone who thinks there was no lockdown in Sweden is deluded, the only difference is they didn't need the same extent of legal enforcement for them to obey. High schools and colleges were closed and any pubs and restaurants that didn't enforce strict social distancing were shut down. They exceeded the death toll of all their Scandinavian neighbours put together, and their GDP fell by roughly the same, without any significant increase in herd immunity. I get bored of having to repeat this.
