dirty dingus Posted October 2, 2020 Share Posted October 2, 2020 Been stuck in a bedroom this week after being in Croatia and had a couple of covid tests as was feeling unwell on return(general bunged up and tight chest), the first postal one was inconclusive then the drive through today was negative. The swabbing is pretty unpleasant but it had to be done. Based on the government’s cost to support lockdown and the number of years lives saved by the lockdown measures ( estimated to be 3 million years of life saved), we are spending £180,000 per Life year saved for covid. The number of years of life saved is of course based on the worst case scenario of deaths and is likely out at least 10 fold, probably more. It also ignores all the collateral years of life lost so far and all the years lost to come due to missed cancer screenings, missed operations, recession, etc. These will dwarf any covid years of life saved. And it also ignores the millions of lives lost throughout the world and the loss of millions of livelihoods. 4 times as many people will die of hunger this year compared with covid. Many off them children. Those lives could have been saved for a fraction of the cost. Worth turning a blind eye to for the virtue signalling middle class lockdown supporters on full pay.
