Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

I know NS said the other day that she wasn’t going to follow England’s lead and allow couples who don’t live together to have a meet up “bubble”. Surely she’ll allow that from Friday? She must button up the back if she believes couples have been going 3 months without a shag (I know the married lads will probably think 3 months isn’t a long time!)

Place mine used to go to had a boozer right downstairs. Lost count the number of times I went in there to wait stone cold sober, came oot reeking, and she was still no finished. Place was always rammed full of blokes on their own looking at their watches every 20 mins and rolling their eyes.

I reckon the salon and and the bar had a racket going.

They probably did! The one my ex used to go to was tiny and the ventilation was non existent. Really don’t know how they can say hairdressers can work in close proximity but teachers can’t

Me and my other half have managed to get intimate 3 times during this lockdown.

Was running in the park with my bird today and some fat c**t who looked like he played dungeons and dragons in his maw’s basement shouted at us to run in single file. My first encounter with a Covid-Nazi.

Hope you asked him if he'd been doing his government-mandated exercise.

Or gave him the w****r signal; either or.

breakdown of only the highest hit places per population. Probably not a surprise to see some areas around glasgow hardest hit as it has already been well documented that they have had high numbers, probably due to it being a large city.

Got to admit, the cynic in me thought parts of fife would be in that list as i have seen people with a slightly too laid back attitude to it all.

My ex was one of these. I ended up getting a haircut in the same place at the same time she had an appointment. I realised that only about 20 minutes of the 180 they spend in there is actually the cutting and colouring part. The rest is sitting in the chair drinking prosecco/coffee, reading a shite magazine, while the stylist pisses around elsewhere in the shop doing f**k knows what. Then there's the obligatory 'get your hair washed by the junior and get asked if you're going anywhere nice this year' 30 mins or so. I told them I'd literally just stepped out of the shower having washed my hair not more that 30 mins before I arrived in the shop, but no, you have to get subjected to that pish regardless.
Daftest part is, she'd come out of the place looking absolutely no different to she went in, except for being about £150 worse off. Total con job.
I wonder why you're an ex?

For once a list of bad things that Ayrshire isn’t on! Kinda suprised seeing as a care home in Prestwick had about 25 covid deaths alone

I watch wrestling from time to time (yes I know that makes me incredibly sad), and I saw earlier that one of the Scottish promotions- ICW has postponed all shows until 2021. Another organisation that seems to think that come Jan 1st we’ll be “out with the old and in with the new”. Honestly by Jan the flu will be in full swing and folk will be getting their knickers in a twist about that. Why not just cancel everything until Easter 2021 🙄

Anyone eat farmed salmon from Norway recently?

Better get tested for COVID-19.

Norwegian salmon blamed for Beijing coronavirus outbreak

Chinese consumers have almost completely stopped buying imported salmon from Norway after a coronavirus outbreak at a fish market in Beijing was blamed on the fish.
"We are receiving reports of cancellations of orders for fresh salmon to the market as a result of the measures for testing food that have now been implemented," Victoria Braathen,  fisheries envoy to the Norwegian Seafood Council, told state broadcaster NRK

The salmon scare began after a cutting board at a fish stall in Xinfadi market, the largest fresh food market in Beijing, tested positive for the virus.

All three of the first people who tested positive to the virus in Beijing had visited the market in the preceding days.

After Chinese authorities launched widespread testing in the capital, 79 people have tested positive out of 80,000 tested.

Yang Peng, a member of the Beijing CDC New Coronary Pneumonia Outbreak Prevention and Control Expert Group, told China's CCTV News that the outbreak could have come into China with contaminated seafood or meat.

"Through testing it was discovered that the virus came from Europe. The preliminary assessment is that it is related to imports. However, it is unclear where the virus comes from. It could be contaminated seafood or meat, or it could come from people who have been on the market," he said.

However, Espen Nakstad, who leads Norway's coronavirus response at the Norwegian Directorate of Health said he didn't believe that the virus had come into China in salmon.

"It is a little difficult to imagine how a salmon can bring coronavirus to China," he told NRK

Whether the outbreak came in on Norwegian fish or not, the impact on salmon sales is very real. According to the Global Times newspaper, many supermarkets have now removed Norwegian salmon from the shelves.

"There is not a single customer who wants to come to our restaurant right now, since salmon has been made the scapegoat," the general manager of Beijing's Haile'er restaurant, which specialises in Norwegian salmon, told NRK.

Norwegian salmon exports to China fell by a third last week to 240 tonnes, Norway’s state-owned seafood marketing organisation said on Thursday.

The 34% decline came as imports of salmon to China were halted towards the end of the week when the novel coronavirus was discovered at stalls processing the fish at a major Beijing wholesale food market.

“It’s too early to tell which consequences the new outbreak in Beijing will have for salmon exports in the time ahead,” the Norwegian Seafood Council said in a statement.

Norway and China have both concluded that the salmon itself was not the source of the virus, Norway’s fisheries minister said on Wednesday.

Yeah, seen that yesterday on the news that China has had a second outbreak of the virus. Experts looking around for something or someone to blame, not that anyone in the market could be a carrier without knowing it or just not washed their hands.

No one thinks of cooking the salmon either???

Parr for the course. The Chinese will roe back from this fairly quickly.

Just started thinking it’ll be quite mental from about November when the common cold comes into play and people are getting tested weekly to check if it’s Covid or the cold
