A tad hypocritical for a complete moron who can't see the differences between hundreds of bams overloading a tiny village of 400 (mainly elderly) people just so they can get pished in the sunshine and thousands of people protesting against systematic racism, yes.

Of course I can see a difference but at the end of the day both sets of folk were breaking lockdown rules.

For the majority, yes.

I imagine it would be a devastating discovery for anyone who has lost a job or business through an extended lockdown though, and would cast doubt on to what extent the lockdown has played in suppressing the virus vs adequate testing capacity.

WHO: spread from people without symptoms is rare.

Crazy. A bit late for this when we're past the worst of it.

Unsure if it's the same study, but I saw similar but they clarified that what we were considering to be asymptomatic might just be extremely mild illness with mild symptoms that aren't the usual temperature / cough associated with covid. I'll try to find the article but it was way down the bottom of a twitter hole so may struggle 👍

For perspective, up until last Sunday, 5,167 deaths had been registered this year in Scotland in people aged 0-64. Just 349 of those mentioned Covid-19 on the death certificate.

If we look at those under 45, the figures are 1,090 and 24 respectively.

Yup. Another lamb to the slaughter whilst BoJo comes and goes as he pleases.

Tbf if the scientific advise advised that was a safe thing to do, is it not fair to point that out?

The Tories (& SNP) decision making at the beginning was dreadful, and is criticised accordingly, but if you are given poor information from experts with which you have to make these decisions with, it's fair to highight this IMO.

No one, scientist or minister, comes out of this whole epidode looking particularly good.

China predictably lashing out everywhere and anywhere to divert attention from its performance over covid-19. Their anti-Australian rhetoric in the last few days has been pretty striking and the maritime disputes with SEA neighbours are worth keeping an eye on.

The problem China has is that its political system is riddled with incompetence and corruption at local and national level. Very easy to imagine a scenario here where China sleepwalks its way into trouble, especially as it is currently so over-stretched. Arguing with America, arguing with the WHO, arguing with Australia, arguing with India, arguing with Vietnam, arguing with Malaysia, arguing with Indonesia, trouble in Hong Kong, fresh from trying (again) to intervene in Taiwanese politics.

Interesting times.

Proof that voting for a rosette doesn't work, who in their right mind would vote for her. She shouldn't be elected never mind a minister doesn't look like she has control of her thoughts never mind a government department.
