Just been to Sainsbury’s in Dundee.  No toilet roll which is disappointing as I had planned to buy 50 packs.  Lots of tinned foods and dried pasta, which are meant to be the panic buyers specialities, however.

Will you be using lasagne sheets to wipe your arse?

Apparently the toilet roll hoarding craze started in Asia with people buying it to make diy face masks. Now people globally are terrified they'll have to wash their arses instead of smearing them with paper.

Aye, going from £100bn to £150bn a year in 10 years is "obliterated". That's almost double the rate of inflation and the only part of government spending that has been treated this way.

Why do people mindlessly repeat this shite?  Oh, this might be why

Wow look the right hand line is double the size of the other ones, and it's red that must be good.

It's a well established fact that annual 1-2% budget increases of late are far behind both what has been the case for decades and far below what is needed, as local health authorities are unanimous in saying they are being forced to make unsustainable cuts to front line services.

As you well know, there are a host or reasons why a ~1% increase in abstract doesn't come close to telling the full story, nor being sufficient.

If your wee graph helps you sleep at night then that's great. Enjoy.

We have 15 rolls left, no idea how long that usually lasts us! People stock piling that and hand sanitiser to such ridiculous extents are not only selfish but incredibly stupid.

selfish, yes, but not stupid-its not like these things are perishable, theyll get round to using them eventually

Then remembered I was going through the thread backwards.

this'll all blow over fairly quickly, Bird flu and Ebola were another two 'apocalypse' diseases that don't seem to get any media coverage now.

This seems even less scary than SARS. China is huge and 9 folk have died? So f**k. Probably 10000 folk were hit by cars there yesterday and nobody is ripping up the roads.

First time I’ve ventured into this thread

Just had a quick look at the first couple of pages to pick out which zoomers whose opinion I can safely ignore

That's brutal. But tbf, if you'd have posted at that time you'd have said something similar.

As infectious as this clearly is, I think the death rate is massively overstated.

There will be many people with mild symptoms everywhere who did not get tested, have since recovered, and will be none the wiser.

Here in the UK we are now actively not testing people with mild symptoms so any figures coming out of here will be wildly inaccurate.
