Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

As part of a tentative reopening of the US state of Tennessee the Republican governor is allowing restaurants to reopen on Monday at 50% capacity. The 6 Democratic counties of TN have refused and instead have their own plan to reopen which will start on Thursday.
I thought this was nicely representative of Coronavirus being used as part of a bitter partisan national political power struggle.

At this time be grateful that the Tories have so much support from the media and general public and can get on with the job at hand without toxic hostile politics getting in the way.

You do realise the Tories are making a rip roaring c**t of this? They had plenty of forewarning, be it from exersise Cygnus in 2016 and the pandemic sweeping through the East and central Europe before it hit here.

The Scottish government is not Tory nor is the Welsh.  Who would want to be in charge just now?  People are respecting that responsibility regardless of what party it is.

Your Tennessee example hardly sounds like an embittered struggle.

"Richard Horton, the editor of The Lancet medical journal, tweeted: "If it is true that Dominic Cummings attended meetings of Sage, then the government led by Boris Johnson has utterly corrupted independent scientific advice.""

Don't forget the unpayable mountain of debt and forthcoming, second lost decade of 'austerity bullshit' as well, all to protect the public health of a bunch of thick boomers who still can't go two days without wandering down to B and M with the wife to select a cheap bottle of plonk.

Selecting a cheap bottle of plonk from B and M is possibly even harder than ending lockdown, given that it doesn't have a license.
