Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

The Oxford vaccine is going to start human trials on Thursday. Obviously a welcome development, but the pessimist in me isn't hopeful as it seems a bit rushed.

Wonder how the test goes. Do they just give them and then tell them to come back in month and see if they got it or not, or do you give them 5 days at home and then bring them onto a coronovirus ward to shake hands with everyone and then tell them to touch their eyes and face and see what happens five days later?

I presume they do the antibody test but those have been unreliable.

I think the first trials are just to see if it kills them. To see if it works they need thousands and they give half the real thing and the rest a meningitis vaccine that won't do anything for Covid. Then count up who dies. If loads on the meningitis jab do and nobody on the Covid one, then it's a winner!

If it’s the same drug he was talking about earlier in the pandemic then the shares his family trust owns in the company that produces it are worth about $1000. I doubt he’s trying to bump it, he probably didn’t know he had the stock.

@Todd_is_God your thoughts?

If football starts back 1 day after August here then i'd be more than happy with that.

If it would delight you more that I was so incorrect in my prediction than the fact football was back then that sounds like a you problem.

Stay at home 'because we didn't bother stockpiling enough face masks for NHS staff despite being a supposedly 1st World government with three months advance notice to act' doesn't quite have the same ring to it as 'save lives'  IMO but that seems to be about where we are right now.

4  nights in a row now my moronic neighbours have started a fire in their back garden around this time. Something that shouldn’t be happening according to the emergency services during these covid days
