Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Dont see the difference of playing a bit of golf this way compared to walking a dog?
People would start to take the piss though but done discreetly it would be ok.
No difference to walking through a park.
In Italy all parks are off limits. I have a half basketball court within my 200m exercise zone and I'm not allowed to use it. Someone I know got fined a couple of days ago for walking through a park.

The data for Italy is quite thorough (and debunks the population density nonsense). The figures look hopeful at the moment but indicate the possibility of a very long tail to the curve. It'll be difficult keeping the R0 below one long enough for a vaccine to come on the market.

That’s not going to happen.  What’s more you KNOW that’s not going to happen.

Back when I was active in politics I remember people spouting shite like this rather than doing anything constructive to try to create a genuinely better society.  People can achieve a better society, it’s not going to look anything like what you’re suggesting though.

Yes, I'm well aware it won't happen. I was a Union official long enough to know how it all works.

If we could get closer to a Scandinavian model that would do me, however we all know that there's too many influential people with too much to lose for it to happen.

Short of a revolution I'm afraid an independent Scotland with a more socialist leaning population is our only realistic hope of just slightly realigning things and even at that it would still be just a token gesture in the bigger picture but still a step in the right direction, if nothing else.

I blame Ian.

An Independent Scotland based on a Scandinavian of social equality would be a massive step forward.  I’d love to see that before I pop my clogs.

There are a myriad of problems surrounding the issue of taxation, including some of those you mention.  But, let's start with the low lying fruit and start getting corporations to pay taxes relative to their revenue.  As a start.

Why pay tax on revenue? That's just nuts. It would put all low margin businesses at disadvantage.

I think his point is before you know it you will have a packed golf course, car park etc

Pretty much. I'm sure you could do it discreetly though. No doubt some Facebook bawbag will ruin it.

Absolutely. Just need to dig out the Harry Potter cloaks of invisibility.

Yes essential international travel, ie business etc not holidays.

It's 8 months away, Wuhan the epicentre are out of lockdown after 3 months. I think there will be a antibody test by then, if you have had it you will be clear to travel. Thailand had already introduced a show proof that you don't have it(doctors certificte) and get insurance to cover you if you get it measures before they ended up  banning all international  flights.

And will not cover you for Covid 19

Yes, we've already had this and I already said that I'm more than willing to take the risk.

I'd need to catch the virus in this country anyway for it to have any impact while abroad (given I only go on breaks under 7 days generally).
