Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

Happened to leave the parliament channel on after PMQ's and there's a debate about lifting restrictions in England.

During the debate it's surprising me how many MP's are saying "438 people died yesterday from Covid".  They can't all be that stupid surely and must be mis-representing it deliberately?

In the meantime, the number of people making the decision for themselves to ditch masks will continue to slowly grow until it reaches critical mass. Maybe by summer we'll be seeing the majority walking around mask-free. Maybe.

Have to agree with @virginton earlier that while this would be great to see, it’s no consolation to the staff in workplaces forced to keep them on due to internal policy, based on government guidance.

I liked the response that then followed someone pointing that fact out to them.

Talk about comparing apples with oranges and parasites.

Polio and smallpox have vaccines that are actually vaccines ie they create immunity.

Malaria might take a few centuries of global warming to get here.

Apparently Ian Blackford and other SNP MPs are outraged at the dropping of masks. Why do they even care? It doesn’t apply in Scotland
Haven't you realised by this point that MSPs have to be seen to care about everything and everyone even if what their caring about doesn't affect them.

Malaria isn't caused by a virus either.

Folk in Berwick upon Tweed might irresponsibly spread covid over the border if they are not wearing their masks.

Those poor vulnerable Scots in Eyemouth and Dunbar at risk from reckless Tory policy.

Sturgeon has said herself that mandatory masking is here for the longer term.

And given that she's more than 7 years into the role and looking broken by the last 2 years, it's reasonable to assume that she'll be gone before legally enforced masking is removed.

Whilst I agree with the sentiment, I think as other countries start to remove mandatory masks by the middle of the year, Scotland will quickly become an outlier, leaving her with little choice. Going to guess Northern Ireland will move next out of the UK. The fact the opposition seem more willing to challenge her now will also help.

I might be being cynical here, but isn't that one day after the second anniversary of the first lockdown?

Enough of the symbolism, and bin it now if that's the case. Why wait?

Could be do to with when the legal acts expire.

You are literally so stupid. Immunity does not mean you simply either catch something or you don't.

According to Travelling Tabby, 47 under 15s have died of covid.

Influenza is more lethal to kids than ole rona. Some people are simply beyond helping.

It’s not even really that though, that’s under 15s who have died within 28 days of a positive test. No idea how many have actually died due to Covid.

Again this question comes to raise its head.

Will that also end temporarily devolved powers linked to the act?

Hopefully.

Do folk down south now no longer have to wear a mask in airports/on planes until they get to their destination?
