Bairnardo
"Even if Covid is not the primary reason people are in hospital, the fact they have Covid means enhanced measures are required in hospitals." A valid point. But one that is preparing us for the numbers in hospital because of Covid being low. And the inevitable reaction that, that will bring. And what the fuckndoes any of that have to do with inposing social restrictions on the population. craigkillie
The ONS survey is most likely fairly accurate (once taken with its appropriate uncertainty interval), it's definitely a more representative survey of the population than the testing numbers are.

Genius imo.

ICTChris
Isolation ends in 7 days if no fever and two negative lateral flows from day 6. Household and close contacts - boostered people won't have to self isolate but will have to take lateral flows.

Think it was a third of folk in hospital there with Covid weren't admitted for Covid. And nearly all who were admitted for it haven't had any vaccines. Don't think that's correct. If I remember it was about 90% didn't have their boosted and about 60% were unvaccinated.
TheScarf
i knew she would give it the 'just because they weren't admitted due to Covid, they're still in hospital with it'. Daft logic given if Wee Davie didn't break his leg at fives last week, he wouldn't be in hospital, but probably still have Covid.

I would hope theres some serious "so was it worth the money and what damage will blowing this money on this nonsense do down the line" from media and opposition. There wont be like, but we live in hope.....

ICTChris
From tomorrow, you don't need a confirmation PCR if you get a positive lateral flow and you have no symptoms. Edited January 5, 2022 by ICTChris

What's the logic here? No symptoms + test positive = you have covid Symptoms and test positive with LFT you need to confirm. If they're now fully trusting LFT's why would you need to go for a PCR if you have symptoms, have done an LFT and has returned positive? Can get it if you have symptoms and return a negative LFT. Go and get a more accurate PCR to verify.
