I've had a cold for the last 3 days, but I'm not bothering my fucking arse to do an LFT. f**k having to isolate if it comes back positive.  44 years on this planet Is enough to know what a cold is. Lot of shite.

Say hi to Rangers for me.

The Chinese way of dealing with it is locking down a city and delivering food and tests to everyone. It will probably last 3 or 4 weeks. We were under restrictions for periods of 5 and 9 months.

The Chinese way of doing it is psychotic.

183,037 positive cases in UK

4 home nations now 3rd, 4th, 5th & 6th in the world for infections per 100K

Denmark qualified above us again !!!!!!

The fake SAGE types will have an absolute rager over those figures. Surely Scotland couldn't possibly be that bad, though! Just look at how seriously we take it and how much our government cares!

You can tell he's not the brightest from one of his other recent tweets if he can't immediately tell from how sudden and steep the down slopes are that it's simply an artefact of no official numbers being reported outside of England:

Like I said, a loser. Can only imagine the mentality of someone who would buy one of his books. Having to rely on weaselry like this rather than just being upfront with reality is why these people are a burden to the independence movement.

I'm well aware of that, but the restrictions in China where you are paraded down the street in a pig truck if you 'break the rules' really isn't comparable to what we have had to endure. Just how long will they actually try to keep this up for? They have backed themselves into this corner by chasing the fantasy of elimination, rather than the reality of mitigation.

Missed today's announcement / briefing.

When these restrictions were brought in Sturgeon said they'd be in place for "up to three weeks". I think we all know it'll be a whole lot longer but did NS say anything today about them being in place beyond the three weeks?

Only that they would interrogate the data to decide what was response was proportionate after the 17th.

Hardcore SNP supporters in coming across as c***s. Who knew...

I just had a look on Facebook at the same story for a laugh, it’s even worse than Twitter

Slightly off topic but I blame this attention a lot on years of petitions demonising football fans

The common theme seems to be they don’t see individuals who attend games as real people

So the slow, steady drip feed of hinting at continuing them beyond the 17th has begun then really...

I'd put money on it being extended till the 30th of January, followed by some levels based pish.

Funded, of course, by diverting money from the healthcare budget.

Unless the current restrictions are significantly strengthened I’m not sure how they could use any levels system to come out of them.

Plenty room to slowly increase capacities at indoor and outdoor events.

25% > 50% >75% > 100% in three week intervals, for example.

I can't see the game at Celtic Park being allowed 60,000, nor can I see them allowing bars filled to the brim with vertical drinkers watching it.

Same with Murrayfield for the England game.

Regardless of the hospital numbers, they will baulk at lifting restrictions when case numbers are high.

The replies to this are utterly predictable.

See tbh, I've enough going on in my life that missing a few games won't be the end of the world for me but there's plenty of folk out there who need that release, who only see people on match days, who's only bit of happiness is going to the football. The same as if they closed the bingo and restricted the wee old woman or man who'd only day out a week and see folk is going to bingo. You take these things away from people and it's obviously going to affect people

What a disheartening group of comments. These people are dreadful.

I wouldn't be going to the football anyway because I live 400 miles away, but this is frankly irrelevant. The point is that there was no rationale for limiting attendances to 500 anyway; Leitch and Swinney admitted it as such.

For the benefit of twitter commenters, people working in the NHS or in key worker roles having a tough time is not a reason to stop people going to the football. Indeed, I'm sure a lot of those people are also football fans.
