HL top guns are meeting the SFA tomorrow to find out just what the hell is going on. The Nairn manager was in the paper this morning saying he thought they'd be as well closing it down for a few weeks, mainly concerned about the players travelling to games but I don't know if that view is widespread.

Rod Houston, Top Gun 🤣🤣

Also, Sturgeon and the SNP are getting fucking reamed on Twitter, from all ages and genders.  Another 'echo chamber of football fans' on there too is it?

Think this is political suicide for them. No way back now.

Someone else beat me to it. I’m triple vaccinated, millions of us are triple vaccinated. Those who are vulnerable are definitely vaccinated.

Do the vaccines work. They just need to work enough to mitigate the effects of contracting covid to the point where the NHS isn’t going to be overwhelmed with really, really sick people who could die too.

The vaccines can do that, stop the NHS collapsing, can’t they?

At the same time as announcing these new restrictions, the Scottish, and indeed UK Governments are on a booster drive, while also urging those yet to be vaccinated to do so…. Why would anyone now bother? What’s the point if you’re going to impose restrictions anyway?

You absolute shower of utterly contemptable cnuts.

The problem is that having a massive wave of people who are sick at one time is as bad for the economy as lockdown is.

Yesterday i was on the way to a dentist appointment and there were a number of announcements about train cancellations because of staff sickness. The appointment I had was rearranged because the first one the dentist was off sick. I know my brother had so many staff off sick (he’s down south) that his cafe was shut and not making any money for nearly 2 weeks. Sick people aren’t going out and spending money, then shops, cafes, pubs etc aren’t making enough.

Limiting the spread is still important, perhaps not to the extent of saving lives but to try and prevent mass illness at one time. At least lockdown normally brings furlough money with it but if everyone is still getting sick, then there is still a problem.

Sturgeon has very much lost the dressing room amongst the folk i'm seeing across my social media sites and talking to, the majority of which were probably pro-SNP a year and a half ago. Frustration has slowly built amongst folk but there's a serious amount of genuine anger now. You'd have to be covering your ears to genuinely think this hasn't dented her/their reputation amongst your average punter.

What a fucking joke with 500 limited - no point playing the last 3 games before the winter break now.

If I were the SPFL I'd be tempted to move the winter break back. Don't know if thats even possible. I know Sky wouldnt like it, but matchday income is these clubs main source of income.

Booked in for a big family meal with 6 households in about a weeks time, assumed that would be canned but the restaurant have confirmed they are going ahead and ignoring the nonsense. Great to see and need more of this to happen now. Absolutely minimal compliance where possible from both the public and businesses.

This hope all pubs are now rammed to the rafters for the upcoming old firm , Edinburgh and Dundee derbies and not a bit of social distancing to be seen.

It would be if there was any political alternative but as there isn't then it isn't.

What you'll find is a very low turnout at the next election unless some Hitler type character appears telling everyone what they want to hear and promising the earth.

However, we all know how that tends to turn out........

The severe cranial detachment has occured. As someone who works in a bar and enjoys going to the fitba, I feel like Joe Root the other day.

This just does not make sense, people have gone and got vaccinated and boosted under massively false pretences and if this variant leads to nobody dying and the NHS not getting overwhelmed (as the early data seems to be suggesting) the government have lost all credibility.

Vaccine passports are clearly not even a thing anymore, as at the least, they could've demanded folk were double jabbed at the least before attending anything.

The can is just being continually kicked down the road with zero thought for anything other than 'not overwhelming the nhs'.

Utter nonsense. I will never ever vote Snp.

I'll be shocked and pleasantly surprised if we don't go the same way as Wales with regards to football etc. being behind closed doors.

Football, like hospitality, seems such an easy target to let politicians be seen to be doing something. It again comes back to the fact that we're very much at a point where people should be allowed to assess their own risk. If you don't feel "safe" being outdoors while also being double/triple jagged then frankly you'd be as well never leaving the house again.
We haven't but it might as well be with a 500 crowd limit.

Absolutely pointless.
