Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Fucking had it with this. As has my wife, who is CEV. If she’s had enough and wants to live her life that’s good enough for me. Get any thoughts of restrictions in the fuckin bin where where they belong.

Meanwhile Ian Blackford talking about Lockdowns being the “mood music” and that the League Cup final should be postponed

It genuinely bothers me so much that throwing out suggestions of lockdown has become so normalised.

This should be an absolute last resort and it baffles me as to why anyone sees it differently.

Again, more confirmation bias, and let's not kid ourselves that Neil and Nelson are not reading from the same page.

Tell me again why other countries, using completely different modellers, are coming to the same conclusion as the UK ?

You can continue to parrot the phrase 'confirmation bias' all you like but again, the early real world data on the actual severity of omicron is out there and all of it points towards less severity and nothing towards increased severity.

At this stage it looks more like confirmation than confirmation bias.

Indeed, he’s by no means the only one, but the way he just casually throws it out there was what caught my attention

Let's hope so.

But my question remains, given that leaders all over the world are erring on the side of caution and are introducing restrictions to a lesser or greater extent to deal with the (possible) dangers of this variant, what would people prefer Sturgeon do ?

Ignore everything, and go full Bolsonaro ? Even Johnson, as incompetent and useless as he is, isn't doing that.

He probably knows it’s coming so is just part of a wider effort to warm us all up to it. It’s so transparent now the whole little game we’re going through.

Probably raging because his illustrious party leader won't let him attend.

Snivelling gimp.

If I was an aging, obese slob like him, maybe I'd be a tiny bit more concerned.

There's no problem at all in the world of people like Boab. If you disagree with lockdown, even in a highly vaccinated/boosted/immune population, for an endemic respiratory virus, that makes you a Jair Bolsonaro supporter. Apparently.

I’d been thinking for a bit Bob hadn’t been on the piss tonight.  I’d guessed because Aberdeen hadn’t played.

He’s clearly leathered as usual.

Same thing she did during the exit wave. Nothing. Ride it out.

The thing is, this will have been spreading in London for weeks now, and if South Africa is anything to go by, London will likely peak in the next week or so. I genuinely believe the horse has already bolted regardless of what we do. Even *if* the NHS was 'overwhelmed' for a week or two, at this stage torching society is no longer tolerable. Let's not forget the SAGE clowns were predicting up to 7,000 hospitalisations back in the summer/autumn. In reality it never went above 1,000. Now they're saying it *could* peak at 3,000. Complete and utter drivel.

Absolutely nothing on top of what is already in place. Nothing else needs to be done by way or restricitons. A provision of financial support for businesses that need to close due to staff being off or self isolate with covid would be plenty at this point.

If this imposition of restrictions is so desperately needed, why are idiots like Drakeford waiting two weeks to implement anything when we're being told the 'tsunami' is here now?

Edited as I hit reply too quickly in first instance.

If all these total dangers were chocolate they would eat themselves. Trying to make up for being bullied at school.

Err, a walk through the centre of Edinburgh or seeing a packed Hampden tomorrow would show that this truly is over in the eyes of the public. What is imposed on us by Government because of the public health geeks, in spite of universal vaccination and declining hospital admissions, is unfortunately another matter.

'You utter simpleton.' 🥴

Yep you keep spouting your shite on here 24/7 and your fellow simpletons will lap it up🙄

Or alternatively you could get a life?

Just seen that Fraser Nelson stuff btw.

Imagine being so entrenched in your politics that you would rather blindly endire lockdowns and the like, than acknowledge something that was said by someone whose politics you dont like

If the covid response cant transcend left and right pointscoring for you, you need to take a long hard look at yourself.
