Have to say it's cracking patter I'm in a position where I feel in all likely hood I don't have a party to vote for. The Socialist Party didn't stand any candidates at either the last Holyrood or Westminster elections & I wouldn't touch any of the other pro-indy parties (there's more than you'd think) for a variety of reasons.

I find myself remaining pro-independence (or at least the notion of independence, because I don't actually believe any of the parties on the current political map would make a good go of it in the short/medium term) but without a party I would be morally comfortable with actually lending my vote to.

Patrick Harvie knows that pandering to the sizeable Lovejoy demographic is worth more in today's political climate than any sort of principled stance, especially when it comes to holding onto the only modicum of power he's ever held in his specky wee life.

Mrs. B used to work at the Scottish Parliament.  For years every time he’s on the TV she tells me how dreadful he was to deal with and how he was the most self important up himself of every single MSP.

Find a hack from a paper that likes to write negative stories about the snp on Twitter with open DMs and slide on in would be my guess.

Chris Musson at the sun would be my starting point.

As much as I’m desperate to go to the game, I’m not so desperate I’d be willing to compromise my morals to the point I would speak to The Sun.

There will be an equivalent at any newspaper (except the National).

I think we need to brace ourselves for the possibility of major street protests and outbreaks of violent disorder over this.

Most people probably will just groan and accept this but a significant minority might be pushed to breaking point.

Nothing will happen. Nothing ever happens.

Not surprised by that at all mate.

He knows his voter base, and a lot of his voter base are the most condescending, divisive, arrogant arseholes that you're likely to meet. Harvie knows you can basically get away with speaking down to people as long as you've convinced people you're on the "good" side of things.

I've always been pretty left wing, pro indy and like to think I've got a social conscience - but I get far, far more shit off my Green voting mates than I've ever had off Unionist pals, including staunch Sevco types.

This is basically why she detests him.  She would never use the phrase but she describes him as the c***s c**t.

He treated all the parliament staff like shit.

Got to feel for those people who have season tickets and now face not getting to the games they've paid for.

I always had the SNP and the Greens down as having principles.

Both have shown themselves to be no better than Johnson's mob at Westminster.

They say one thing and then change their minds within weeks. You just can't trust them on anything.

Vaccine passports have crossed a line.

Wonder how long it'll take them to realise this could be the SNP's poll tax moment.

I just don't understand why these people won't fucking listen and won't fucking think through the consequences of anything for more than 5 seconds.

And for all those idiots saying "How come we canny just show a wee QR code an' aw that? Simples innit?", I have one very valid answer.

We don't live in fucking North Korea.

We're definitely outnumbered with our view on this. Sadly people see it as black and white, and either get to the football etc, or have games back behind closed doors. Sadly they dont seem to grasp that there is nothing normal about showing a vaccine passport to attend say the football, which is outdoors and already a minuscule chance of transmission.

68,000 Covid tests in Scotland yesterday.  Fucking ludicrous.

surely it’s a pointless piece of information now as most tests are being done now for people to get access to flights , events etc etc

for example test numbers will shoot up this weekend because of trnsmt alone . It’s not a sign of the virus being on the rise , it’s because folk have to do it to get access.

Clearly the sentiment on this thread isn’t shared more widely - today’s poll has the SNP up 3% on the Holyrood constituency vote to 51%.

Whatcha gonna do when Simpomania runs wild on you, brother?!

Lol.

This thread has become a pitying echo chamber for those who delight in bias confirmation. If anyone thinks that the vocal views of a few posters on P&B represent mainstream public opinion, they need to get out more.

Undoubtedly, this will raise some moans and groans amongst those that it will affect directly, but the vast majority of people in Scotland don't go to nightclubs, or festivals or concerts, or even attend football games.

Nobody in their right mind wants vaccine passports, but the vast majority of Scots won't be inconvenienced by them and will accept it as a necessary evil.

That's just how it is.

Colour me shocked that the Greens will completely sell their principles down the river in exchange for a bit of power and money.

It's almost as if they don't *actually* believe in what they preach...

I'm old enough to remember when the Greens were actually Greens

back when they consisted of Robin Harper and his technicolour scarfs

Vaccine passports are a bad idea being implemented terribly.    It should not be in the decent majority to show the are vaxed. If we’re going after anti vax c***s let’s do it properly.    Refuse treatment,   Huge fines and possible imprisonments for publishing mis-information etc.     Let’s make sure these wankers are uncomfortable, not the decent folks.
