As am I. Don't think the idea of a two-tiered society is particularly pleasant one, though.

It's not really a "two-tiered society" if unvaccinated people can still enter with a negative test or proof of recent infection. I'd still rather not have it full stop, but my biggest issue was that people would be shut out of society if they didn't want to or couldn't get a vaccine.

It really depends how easily accessible testing is, and if a mobile phone etc is required to do this.

News from the Land of We don't know what we're doing, but Smile.

  • Big shift on the vaccines, Sinovac is pishe (what everyone has been saying for 5 months)
  • Folk who have double dosed with Sinovac, will get a third dose (booster) of AZ
  • Folk who have 1 dose of Sinovac will get a second dose of AZ
  • We are jagging about 10,000 (second dose) per day. 4.6% of the population.  It's a sham.
  • Government are still mulling over home isolation if you are positive (everyone must go to hospital quarantine) as numbers rise. It's all about money, as hospitals receive cash for each 'patient', but don't if they stay at home.  Remember,  you don't have to have any symptoms.  You just need 'treatment', whatever the f**k that means.  Anyway, if you have to 'receive treatment' at home, you can get up to ฿1100 per day £25.  Watch the cases explode, once this is approved.  Good little money earner, they are working out.
  • Banning of 'talking' on public transport.
  • We are officially  in lockdown. But we are not to call it lockdown, as that would mean workers could claim for their deduction on wage loss.  Anyway, it's the same as normal, just the army back out at the checkpoints, rather than the local busybody.
  • Went very quiet on the tourist news, apart from a couple got married and 2 kids tested positive and have been separated from their parents, for at least 14 days.  What a holiday experience they must be having.

Labour/Libs have had numerous chances to oppose what BJ has been pushing through and they've stood by ideally. The left parties are just as much to blame here as the cons

Low and behold...

Having to organise a test to do day to day things like eating in a restaurant, attending a football match or meeting someone in a pub is a long way from normal.

Macron announced France are going to charge for tests from September so the era of free testing here will probably also be brief.

Can't remember the new restrictions, and can't find a clear answer anywhere, but are you allowed to sit next to a family member, who lives at a different address, at the football just now?

I think that's allowed once social distancing has been chucked, unless you are in a bubble with them. I.e you or the family member live with no other adults.

If you turn up together, how will they know where you live? Just do it. Folk need to start getting on with things themselves now, f**k these daft rules.

... and I know other fans at the same ground are able to sit beside each despite being different addresses.

Because its not PATG, we've had e-tickets at Saints for a while now and it's all printed on that.

We ordered season tickets separately and, without thinking, used different addresses.

Just wanting clarification on the actual rules so I can phone Saints today and make sure it doesn't happen again.

That's interesting maybe they are assuming the wider outdoor socialising rules apply but don't think they cover the live events sector, although no one is going to check unless the club is unfortunate enough to have transmission outdoors in which case Public Health Scotland will go through them. But outdoor transmission is highly unlikely.

I doubt they'll be checking each address on each ticket.

What?

We're meant to be entering turnstiles at opposite ends of the stadium, an hour apart, then being seated at different ends of the stadium.

The ticket has all those details printed on it.

Either way, I'd rather know the actual rules so I can phone the club and get it changed so we do get tickets together for any future games.

The mother of one of my in-laws tested positive after a bus trip to Blackpool

My brother-in-law, who'd been driving her around, went to work regardless but was eventually sent home after casually mentioning it to his employers in passing - he got a test on the way home.

Even though he and his wife were in the house yesterday they sent their daughter to stay with his Covid positive mother

His test from the other day came back negative so he's away back to work this morning even though he's still been in contact with his mother and his daughter spent the day with her

I fucking despair.

France really going full on authoritarian/sinister. Remember the days when the French would rebel? Seems those days are long gone both here and there

To be fair the announcement has flooded the vaccination booking system with 900,000+ jags booked rather than circa 150,000 in previous day's, according to France24.

I think they can see the way it's going and don't feel the need to fight over it. The yellow vest movement shows they are still Europe's rebels.

I am a centrist when it comes to Covid but some of the stuff from the iSage / zero covid side of the debate is mental. This, for example:

It’s an interesting way of looking at the world. Everything that isn’t mandated by the government is a hugely confusing dilemma. I think it says a lot about how people on that side of the debate see the general public.

The replies are a mixture of hilarious and sad.

Yep. Me,  @RiG and another lad will be sat together at TCS on Saturday against Scumling Lolbion and we all live in different towns.
