You asked a hypothetical question about whether Brits would be blocked from certain countries on account of case rates if there was no delta variant. How am I supposed to know the answer to that?! I am however perfectly confident with the initial response. I was explaining why I thought folk weren't celebrating this like VE day, because they can't travel abroad and they are more likely to have to self isolate and you chimed in with a pedantic non-value - well actually its the delta variant actually.....which is a hypothetical answer to a question no one asked you. -

Correct, think her fixed term finished at the end of last year. Indeed It did, so quite why you’re trying to insinuate she’s sitting on a cushy number now, I don’t know. Billy Jean King
It's 93% effective against hospitalisations and deaths. The reduction in efficacy was against transmission and getting a bit ill. Is that not right? BTW, I have no doubt that wearing a mask "as a sign of courtesy" will become the new, shiny and utterly tedious virtue signalling thing to be seen to be doing for a few months. This stuff is ike fashion. [emoji38]No idea he didn't elaborate just dropped in it was "worrying data" with zero context. Surprised he didn't mention they shat the bed on ditching masks after 10 days !!!

Popular Post Honest Saints Fan
I am obviously at higher risk to covid but we really do need to bin restrictions now. For the first time in my life I agree with Johnson, if we don't do it now then we won't this year. Vaccines are clearly working for a large majority and even those like myself who have weakened immune systems they may still work (I've been tested and have positive antibodies). Loads of my wee cancer pals are shitting themselves at masks not being compulsory. Thing is any respiratory/bacterial infection could kill us. I'll wear a mask in some situations. I'm allowed to continue to work from home. I won't be restricting my limited life any longer or my children who have not had normality for 3 years now due to cancer then covid. Now get me to McDiarmid to see the cup double winners and a flight to whoever we draw in Europe!

Being a moderately successful businessman I naturally availed myself of just about all of the upselling extras and have hold baggage, emergency exit seats and a cheese n ham toastie all booked in. £120 return. I did however think the £3.50 each they wanted for fast tracking through empty airport security a step too far. I’ll take my chances with that. I recommend the discounted double G&Ts if you book them online too!

One of the most puzzling aspects of this entire situation is that those who seem to be the loudest and most aggressive amongst the 'government are running risk of wrecking childrens' health' brigade and up on the highest of high-horses regarding their future don't seem at all concerned about the profound long-term mental impact that this entire situation will bring about in those age-groups.

It stopped at Stirling and was so rammed people began falling out and had to squeeze back on before it started moving. Stopped at Cumbernauld and we had to beg people not to get on it. Sounds like the usual Inverness to Glasgow train.

Yup. Thankfully mine are still young and have probably enjoyed the last 18 months having both parents at home more, seeing their grandparents daily etc. I really feel for older children who have missed out on socialising and even proper schooling.
