Are these people calling him a murderer for not keeping restrictions in place tougher and for longer? Or for having restrictions in the first place?

I can’t tell if this protest is anti-vax/anti-lockdown or anti-restriction easing.

They are anti-lockdowners protesting outside his house.

The guys in the second video make the anti-lockdown protesters look like a Mensa meeting.

Manchester travel ban to be ditched from tomorrow, according to Paul Hutcheon of the Record.

East Lothian, Midlothian, Dundee & Edinburgh all higher rates in past 7 days, so pretty senseless to keep it. And yes I know it was pretty senseless to introduce it in the first place.

Fromm BBC news Scotland today

"Worst-case scenario

Covid infection numbers have hit a series of new record highs in Scotland over the past week, with more than 3,200 cases being reported on Monday - the highest since the pandemic began.

Scottish government scientists say infections could hit 100,000 per week by mid-July in a worst-case scenario."

Would love to know the modelling criteria used for that scenario.

Total percentage of people over the age in Scotland whom have received their first vaccination shot. Today's figures.

Areas near the top starting to slow down as they reach their ceilings of vaccine uptakes. Probably end up around 5% of the population of most areas won't be vaccinated for various reasons.

1/ Shetland Islands  92.7%

2/ Clackmannanshire 92.3%

3/ South Lanarkshire 91.7%

4/ Western Isles  91.6%

4/ East Dunbartonshire  91.6%

6/ Dumfries and Galloway 91.5%

6/ Orkney Islands  91.5%

8/ South Ayrshire 90.7%

9/ Moray 89.9%

10/ Borders 89.8%

11/ Argyll and Bute 89.6%

12/ North Ayrshire 88.9%

13/ East Renfrewshire 88.4%

14/ Aberdeenshire 88.3%

14/ North Lanarkshire 88.3%

16/ East Lothian  88.2%

17/ West Lothian 88.1%

18/ Falkirk 87.5%

19/ Angus 86.3%

20/ Perth and Kinross 86.2%

21/ East Ayrshire 85,7%

21/ Fife 85.7%

23/ Inverclyde 85.2%

24/ Midlothian 85.1%

25/ West Dunbartonshire 84.9%

26/ Stirling 84.8%

27/ Highland 83.5%

28/ Renfrewshire 83%

29/ Dundee 77.3%

30/ Aberdeen City 76.4%

31/ Glasgow City 76%

32/ City of Edinburgh 75.1%

Think we can accept that most of the country is now going to be in the >90% range for 1st vaccines when all is said and done.

This will translate to at worst, around 80-85% for full doses. That's before factoring in natural immunity through infection which will surely push it to 90+%.

That's a phenomenal uptake and probably higher than anyone could have imagined. I remember right at the start of this, people were modelling scenarios where vaccine uptake was low (around 60% due to hesitancy over AZ) and then adding around a 15% boost for infection immunity.

After predictions of doom following the 2nd AZ shot from just about everyone I've spoken to, I had mine last night and am absolutely fine (so far).  I had a mild fever after the 1st, but not even a slight headache today.

Anyone else had an easy ride with the AZ 2nd shot?  Or was it worse than Covid itself for you?

I had mild side effects from the first dose and absolutely none on the second.

From what I’ve heard Perth has fully vaccinated it’s vulnerable and over 50’s.

I'm 45, getting my 2nd next week and know a few others in 40's also getting next week, would seem to suggest that is the case.

NS indicating figures are starting to drop as they are looking at the specimen dates rather than date reported. Said there was a peak last Tuesday and day by day it's actually dropping.

Risk of being reinfected with Covid in UK very low - ONS

1d86959e-536c-4ec3-b6e0-7f7a2c65bb8c.jpg

Michelle Roberts

Health editor, BBC News online

The risk of becoming reinfected with coronavirus in the UK is very low, data suggests.

The Office for National Statistics has looked at information collected from its Coronavirus Infection Survey between 26 April 2020 and 5 June 2021.

Thousands of households have been taking part, with the participants agreeing to be regularly tested to see if they have the virus.

Since people who first caught Covid over a year ago will have had more time to become reinfected than someone who had Covid very recently, researchers looked at “days at risk” as their measure.

Overall, there were about 15 reinfections per 100,000 days at risk. Put another way - once people in the study had clocked up 100,000 days at risk of reinfection between them, there were 15 reinfections.

The average gap between infections was 115 days.

When people were reinfected, they tended to have lower (but still detectable) levels of the virus in their body and reported fewer symptoms such as cough, fever, loss of smell or taste, muscle aches and tiredness.
