One vaccine dose reduces Covid hospitalisation chances by 75%

Analysis from PHE suggests a single dose of Pfizer or AstraZeneca vaccines reduce your chances of catching coronavirus and then needing to go to hospital with it by about three quarters.

The effect of the vaccine does not depend on the variant: a single dose of vaccine is just as good at preventing hospitalisation for Delta as for Alpha.

Although we already know the first dose of the vaccine is slightly blunted by Delta – that’s for your chances of catching coronavirus. It looks like fewer of those Delta cases who’ve been vaccinated go on to require hospitalisation.

Among people who have received two doses of the vaccine, the chances of catching and being hospitalised by coronavirus is reduced by more than 90%. We already knew two doses were as good against Delta as they were against Alpha.

The Public Health England report combines an analysis of your chances of getting coronavirus with an analysis of the chances of coronavirus cases going into hospital.

'Heading back'? All of Scotland is at varying degrees of 'local restrictions' right now.
Not that it's less shit - merely pointing out the obvious.
Yes by heading back I was meaning tightening. This is most definitely a tightening given SG L2 specifically allows 500 to attend.

This does not bode well for the start of the new football season if no matter what level a Council area is placed in level wise, the LA can simply stop what little attendance that level is supposed to allow.

It wasn't looking good when Hertz v Sellick was arranged for 8pm on a Saturday night at the end of July.

Might have already been posted already but if you're in Aberdeen, over 30 and haven't yet had your 1st jag, you can just turn up to TECA today and tomorrow

I see we have an exciting 12.15 briefing today. I imagine, as part of the 'adult conversation', this will be warning us all to be on our best behaviour tonight.

#Scenes when she decides to shut the fan-zone.

number of Scotland fans heading to London will make her want to cry.

Sturgeon just stubbed the cigars out by re-iterating it's unlikely anyone will be moved down a level
We knew that already unfortunately, she spelled that out last week. We are where we are now to 19 July (amazing coincidence that). Also an amazing coincidence (not) that she just announced that all 1st jabs will be competed ahead of schedule on....18 July !!!

BTW get these journalists to f**k. 1st up.....Scotland fans bad....tighten restrictions despite Sturgeon herself never mentioning such a thing.

Seems they are trying to ramp up vaccination efforts. Bringing forward the second vaccination by a month and all 18 to 29 year olds should have their first appointment confirmed by next Sunday.
