Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Recommended Posts

According to Travelling Tabby the current 7 day average is just above 900 cases a day. When we hit that point in the second wave, around the 6th of October there was 262 in hospital and within a week we'd hit 527.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say in a weeks time we won't see such a dramatic increase because vaccines are absolutely cigaring this.

Wife and I had an over nighter in Fife to celebrate our anniversary. Only had one over nighter in the past 15 months so it was great to get away.  Had a great lunch in St Monans sitting on the pier then went for a wander in Pittenweem and ended up staying in Anstruther sitting outside having a drink and later a great meal.

What was good to see was these places were crowded and the local businesses were starting to get busy again and there was a great buzz about the places.  For wife and I it was great to get out and about again. Suddenly things seemed brighter and life more enjoyable.

Fully expect Sturgeon and crew to think "F*** This these people are starting to enjoy themselves time for further restrictions..

With death numbers so low, I have no idea why the govts are allowed to carry on with draconian measures that were to last 3 weeks to “flatten the curve and prevent the NHS being overwhelmed. China has been open for about a year, swathes of the USA are back open to full capacities. The route the UK/Scottish governments have went down is utterly sinister

10 minutes ago, Thereisalight.. said:

Turned into the briefing to catch BJ say extending lockdown will save many "thousands" of lives. Utter bullshit considering its averaging about 10 deaths a day

Same this morning on BBC Breakfast where some professor fella (he is on regularly on a Saturday morning with Linda Bauld) made comment that this variant is 60% more transmissible which means x60 times more people getting ill and in hospital. Utter bullshit and his degree clearly isn’t in simple arithmetic if he thinks 60% equals x60. What is as frustrating is that the presenters rarely call out the nonsense spoken by the doom- mongers.
