The question I find difficult to reconcile is why, being part of a liberal democracy, most of us are just so compliant?

I could understand it if we were living in China or North Korea but here in Scotland, the UK, it really is just so depressing how the vast majority of our citizenry go along with all the diktats from on high.

Okay, to get into most shops, you need a mask but to see people walking about in the open air in a muzzled state is like watching zombies in some sci-fi film.

Dreadful.

It's going to be an incredibly frustrating three months or so waiting for everyone over 18 to get double dosed so the "we just don't know" brigade have nothing to cling to.

I've not read it, as it's thoroughly depressing reading anything these days, but the BBC has an article up claiming there's "research" going on into whether everyone actually needs 3 jabs instead of 2.

I would be prepared to have a significant wager on 4th jag being talked up once the 3rd is well through its roll out.

Denmark's higher case stats might be down to the extremely high numbers of tests they are carrying out, over 100,000 per day  https://www.sst.dk/en/English/Corona-eng/Status-of-the-epidemic/COVID-19-updates-Statistics-and-charts

They carried out more PCR tests on one day (161k) than we did in the whole week (156k), but their positivity rate is much lower than ours, under 1%.  I think you have to show a negative test over there to go into bars/cafes etc if you haven't been vaccinated.

Of course there is - the UK Gov have already ordered tens of millions of doses during the initial "BuT tEh VaRiAntZ!" phase.

Those two numbers are estimates.

In reality it appears protection is significantly higher.

Either that or prevalance of that variant is too low (which it absolutely is despite all the moon howling) to cause a problem.

Given we are being told by certain moonhowlers that the vaccines are staggeringly ineffective against the Indian variant, Covid must have mutated to just wilfully not bother it's hole infecting those in age groups that are double dosed then, even though it can any time it wants of course.

Compare this to the cumulative total of people per 100k in the country who have caught covid since the start and it really does begin to build a picture of how ineffective the vaccines are, eh?

Dreadful.

The UK population is the most compliant in the western world. Government's could literally inflict anything on us and we would accept it.

It never used to be like that. The 1980's were full of violent protests over all kinds of things, and the UK was comparatively a quite anarchaic society......but along came Thatcher, and then Blair, who legislated the shite out of legal protesting.

Protests in the UK tend to be left wing orientated. Given that our media is overwhelmingly right wing, they've succesfully managed to make lawful protesting look like nutcase extremists causing chaos in the streets.

There's little impetus amongst the general population for mass protest. We just sit at home and do what we're told.

Just watched Hartlepool v Bromley.

Not too many fans in the ground but no sign of SD when they were celebrating the goals.

Great to see!!

Utterly disgusting that this sort of thing is allowed but nursery graduations are banned
