Shannon
Current League table for 2nd doses. Percentage increase for the week in brackets. City of Edinburgh again another massive push, Clackmannanshire worth a mention, they really want done with their persistent clusters as are Moray. Also Stirling, Falkirk, the Lothians and Glasgow doing well. Big push in Fife answering my previous question. North Ayrshire appear to have just about stopped, are they back to focusing of getting these 1st jags in? https://coronavirus.data.gov.uk/details/vaccinations?areaType=ltla&areaName=Aberdeen City 1/ Western Isles 66.7% to 73.3% (6.6%) 2/ Shetland Islands 58.5% to 66.1% (7.6%) 3/ Orkney Islands 55.2% to 65.9% (10.7%) 4/ Dumfries and Galloway 61.2% to 63.6% (2.4%) 5/ Argyll and Bute 56.9% to 61.8% (4.9%) 6/ Clackmannanshire 50.5% to 58.7% (8.2%) 7/ South Ayrshire 53.9% to 58.6% (4.7%) 8/ Fife 49.3% to 56.9% (7.6%) 9/ East Ayrshire 51.4% to 56.7% (5.3%) 10/ Moray 49.1% to 56.1% (7%) 11/ Borders 53% to 55.3% (5.7%) 12/ North Ayrshire 53.3% to 53.7% (0.4%) 13/ Highland 48.7% to 53% (4.5%) 13/ Angus 49.9% to 53% (3.1%) 15/ South Lanarkshire 48% to 52.9% (4.9%) 16/ Perth and Kinross 46.4% to 51.7% (5.3%) 17/ East Lothian 45.9% to 51.5% (5.6%) 18/ Aberdeenshire 46.7% to 51.3% (4.6%) 19/ East Dunbartonshire 45.7% to 50.3% (4.6%) 20/ Stirling 44.5% to 50% (5.5%) 21/ Falkirk 44% to 49.7% (5.7%) 22/ Midlothian 43.9% to 48.7% (4..8%) 23/ North Lanarkshire 44.9% to 48.5% (3.6%) 24/ Dundee City 42.5% to 47.1% (4.6%) 25/ West Dunbartonshire 42.5% to 46.8% (4.3%) 26/ Inverclyde 43.4% to 46.5% (3.1%) 25/ East Renfrewshire 42.8% to 46.3% (3.1%) 28/ West Lothian 40.9% to 45.8% (4.9%) 29/ Renfrewshire 40.3% to 43.6% (3.3%) 30/ Aberdeen City 36.5% to 41.1% (4.6%) 31/ City of Edinburgh 32.2% to 38.1% (5.9%) 32/ Glasgow City 33.8% to 37.6% (3.8%)I am North Ayrshire and loads of people in my age group over 30s including myself have been getting their 1st jags this week so probably focus on that recently.

Elixir
Given we know it's two weeks post second dose that smokes the virus, and transmission especially, it's worth bearing in mind those figures for the big cities. Additionally, the fact practically no under-40s will be double-dosed, and it's these younger cohorts who spread it the most, it's really no surprise to see cases rising post-unlocking when the virus is more easily transmitted. Vaccines typically work even better in younger adults too. Also, while you'd expect the more rural areas to have fewer cases etc anyway, it's good to see them smoking it with such high vaccine coverage. It remains that once 80+% of adults are vaxxed, this is done. Even the mewling will have to stop at that point.

Guest Bob Mahelp
It's inevitable that cases will rise. Guaranteed. We need to see daily hospitalisations/ICU numbers/deaths. At this point in time cases are irrelevant, I'm afraid.

Aladdin
Sitting here for my 15 minute holding spell after getting Pfizered out my nut.Be interesting if any studies and investigations are carried out into why the UK seems so susceptible to this. Barring an almost total shut down, there doesn't seem to be anything we can do to prevent cases rising quickly. Not too concerning given the good impact the vaccines are having but, in 20 years, that's SARS, MERS and COVID with a couple of worrying flu strains thrown in on top. Something else will no doubt be down the pipeline in years to come and we have got to look at how to better prepare and mitigate.

The lovejoys creaming themselves for "zero covid" need to wake up and realise its not going away...just like cold, flu etc. We've been restricted for 15 months now. Elderly and vulnerable are double dosed. Time everything was binned and get normal living back. This half way house of being dangled a carrot and then getting it snatched away is mental torture
