Turkey should not be on the red list in a million years with its cases reducing and fairly successful vaccine program.
No science just govt not liking prospect of thousands fecking off to Instanbul.

Their 7 day average per 100k is 226, according to the below. That's about 10x the UK's rate.

If they have pretty lax controls in place too that's not going to help either.

Hopefully be July we'll see some real movement on the lists with more countries going green.

I've just noticed the updated foreign office advice for those countries classed amber today...no travel for leisure purposes. Wonder how they define leisure and how they plan to police that given the number of folk willing / able to go to the likes of Spain or Greece and quarantine on their return.

It'll almost certainly invalidate travel insurance. Unless you pay an absolute fortune to some dodgy guy in the Cayman Islands, you'll struggle to get cover to travel anywhere against Foreign Office advice.

You're then left with those who don't bother with insurance anyway. 22% in a normal year, apparently, with 27% having cover but knowing it wasn't valid for what they were doing.

Illness, work, drop off/pick up from school, other appointments. There's plenty of genuine reasons that someone couldn't make it in. When I said the helpline number they give you is a nightmare I mean it is at times impossible to get through to and it appears that the advice they are giving out isn't exactly helpful.

That being said I would say that a vast majority of the people not turning up are either people who don't want the AstraZeneca which they've changed over to in Dundee today, or folk that just can't be arsed turning up.

Just can't be arsed will be 99%

Amazing how much project fear has turned (probably) previously normal people into utter melts. A ziplock bag under the age of 60? Fcking hell

Saw something this morning that said only 5% of double jagged 80+ people think covid is a big risk or danger now.

Prior to vaccination it was 50%

That thought changing microchip is working well then!

I remember CAV in Edinburgh being full of elders on a Saturday night both male and female. Grab a granny Saturday, some night out.
