Rather than just posting this sort of meaningless guff, can you please explain which part of my post you disagree with?

Which of these facts is it that you have a specific problem with?

1) Younger people are much less likely to have had a vaccine than older people
2) Vaccine uptake is lower for people with a BAME background for a number of historic reasons often rooted in institutional racism.
3) Discriminating against people based on their age and/or race is wrong.
4) A domestic vaccine passport system for sporting events, music events, restaurants, shops or anything else creates a clear two-tier system.

The fact that uptake is lower in the BAME community is through choice, unless you are suggesting that we are racially discriminating in who we are providing the vaccine to.  Your confusing two issues here, probably deliberately.

Nothing quite infuriates me like this sort of thing. Let’s chuck hundreds of people into a windowless warehouse to count votes, but we’ve got some hand sanitiser so it’ll all be fine.

We are over well over a year into this pandemic. It’s ludicrous we’re still sanitising everything in sight.

To be fair, it does say in the article that one of the safety measures is "enhanced ventilation" of the venue.

Hand sanitisers and wiping down surfaces maybe still have their place, but the constant messaging of doing it all the time seems to be huge over-kill now. We're still following cleaning schedules at work for wiping down every available surface a number of times per day. I asked about at least cutting down the number of times and was told no it's to stay as it is. 🤬

Like someone said before, are these cases in Moray resulting in hospitalisations and deaths?  I can't find any reporting of this happening. It appears to be the opposite occurring irl.

"We are seeing hospitalisations from this – including in the under 50s."

Doesn't say how many though!

They do seem a bit alarmist, but I think their concern is that it's happening while cases are falling everywhere else, and that's with over 50% of the local population had their first vaccination.

How can these health officials be allowed to portray armageddon in Moray.  I understand feck all people are in ICU or Dieing.  Chris Littlejohn must be some prophet.

Moray is experiencing "uncontrolled, sustained community transmission" of Covid-19, public health officials have warned.

NHS Grampian's deputy director of public health Chris Littlejohn said the situation was "rapidly deteriorating".

The region currently has an infection rate of more than 81 cases per 100,000 - four times the Scotland-wide level.

Mr Littlejohn said there would be deaths if the outbreak could not be controlled.

"We are urging everyone to Protect Moray and get tested, even if they have no symptoms," he said. "We hope that by intervening further now we can avoid the possibility of further restrictions or a continuation of level three in Moray - but we need to act now."

Also...

On Wednesday there were 17 Covid patients in NHS Grampian hospitals - higher than any other health board - though this figure dropped to 11 on Thursday.

Tui representative interviewed on radio there re their £20 pcr test kit offer. Gives you a pre departure test and the day 2 test required for Green zone at a fraction of the price, seems great. Interviewer asks about the logistics of it, send it off results within 48-96hrs....during which time the returned holiday makers will be required to isolate at home pending their negative result !!! So no quarantine for green zone might actually mean a min of 2 days, max 4 days "self isolating" pending your all clear depending on your test provider, hardly no quarantine.

Maybe I'm being cynical but I reckon the reason the vaccine passport talk has been hushed recently is because of todays elections. I'm sure in the next few days Gove and BJ will be giving it big licks about how it's our way back to "normality" for things like sports and concerts. Mark my words.

This sort of intellectual gymnastics is best left to university social "science" professors who really need to get out of their offices and live amongst actual people once in a while.

ETA 2. I just want to point out that many black people really hate this self-loathing white guilt stuff. They find it intensely patronising. All they ask is that actual racists stop being racist.

I'm sure that they'll be thrilled to have a gormless self-appointed spokesperson explaining what they think then, in order to 'win' whatever bizarre fucking point you're trying to make here on an Internet forum.

No, I am well aware of both issues, I even pointed them out in the post which you replied to. The lower uptake from BAME people is their choice, however some of that is rooted in historic institutional racism and the subsequent distrust of authorities which comes as a result of that. It wasn't in this country, but things like the Tuskegee Experiment are not really that long in the past.

I get the feeling there is going to be quite the barrage of fear porn over one of the 'Indian' variants tomorrow, and indeed over the coming weeks...

Aye. Spikes in Bolton caused by it apparently and will become 'fishuly a VOC.

I see also alternatives to AZ will now be offered to those under 40 but it won’t affect the roll out pace.

Does offered mean they can still take the AZ if they want?

I quite enjoy it now.

Can set your watch by Sridhar getting all excited about it, then going on the defensive when someone points out the folly of her pish.

These things get over emphasised to stop folk not giving a f**k and to give the whole thing a soap opera storyline. Less and less sympathy for those who don't realise the scare stories are nonsense, despite the variant narrative playing out the same way every single time.
