It's like the Scottish Government want to torch travel, tourism, and aviation. They do realise they will never, ever win an independence referendum if they let this happen, right? 5 minutes ago, Steven W said: Beginning to find Nicola Sturgeon's tweets about books, and visiting book shops down in Wigtown today a bit off. Those of us, and of which there are many, whose hobbies and interests include attending sports events, gigs, running events etc continue to have to take a back seat. Meanwhile Sturgeon charging around the country, buying books by the shelf-load, having a whale of time. It's insufferable pish, just like Devi's 'find your own sunshine and look for otters!' - nauseating.

Paco
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2021/04/27/june-21-wont-much-return-normal-thought/Telegraph saying June 21st will only have a lifting on numbers of people you can have in your house, with pubs still sticking to 1m+ distancing, 25% capacity at outdoor Wimbledon in July, and theatres/cinemas etc still facing stringent capacity limits. Face coverings won’t go away this year and nor will social distancing. I for one am simply stunned by this. Absolutely stunned.

If there no limits on private house ( which there fuckin well shouldn’t be anyhow ) whilst the rest of the economy has to operate with one hand tied behind its back then the baw is well and truly burst for hospitality

Hoping this is just the usual click bait based off the fact that the most pessimistic stories generate the most traffic. Or (as they have done for the past year) the government planting stories to gauge public reaction prior to actually making policy decisions. However if this happens in conjunction with removal of government financial support then it will destroy the entire hospitality industry.

Financial support is surely likely to go for venues that are allowed to open, regardless of how constrained they are to actually do business.

Anyone who wants to be a "covid marshall" probably still wears their school prefect badge.
Elixir
Once 90%+ of adults in the UK are vaxxed, and it becomes increasingly clear that they continue to utterly piss on the virus and associated vArIAnTz, there's going to have to be some very creative manipulation as to why every single restriction isn't in the bin. That said, it's inevitable that the Coronavirus Act will get renewed again in September before winter and the inevitable bed shitting when respiratory virus season returns. I think once we make it through next winter relatively unscathed it will become politically toxic to continue, and at that point we'll start to get the 'old normal' back.
