Daily Cases Update: What a fantastic day as we enjoy 3 weeks of Level 3. Cases down nearly 7%. Infectivity drops again to 1.3 & Cases per 100K drop to 26.6

A far cry from the 705 in Cyprus, so cancel your holidays to Ayia Napa. Wales by contrast is on some run at 13.2

Scottish highlights take your pick.  South Lanarkshire drops another 30%.  East Renfrewshire join the Covid SuperCigarLeague down 32%.  Aberdeen & the Shire huge drops.  Angus has dropped to only 4 cases and that may actually be less than a Brechin City points haul. Midlothian down to 2 cases. Borders down to 1 case.

The interesting one is D&G who were Covid Free a fortnight ago and now have Scotland's deadliest no go area.  More than Nits being passed around.

Scotland peaked at 301.9 for figures 29th Dec to 4th Jan, (UK was 642.1)    Cases that day were 16,496 and test positivity rate was 11.9%

European (Above 2 Million Population) : Sweden 383 to 370,  Croatia 378 to 364,  Netherlands 331 to 329, France 330 to 311,  all destinations over 250 cases per 100K

Special mention for Turkey as a popular destination down to 435 from 498 but now in Lockdown, Cyprus getting even worse at 705 from 641 !!

11 ICU beds being used from an available 585.
81 people in hospital beds from an available 13,000.
Get the fucking restrictions lifted.
This. It's absolute fucking nonsense that me and my two mates can't share self catering tourist accommodation booked for next week, until fucking JUNE when the vaccines (which we've all had) have been solidly booting Covid-19 in the baws solidly for months [emoji23]

I’ve said for years that the council border should move so Upper Nithadale is incorporated into East Ayrshire, before the entire place is carpet bombed.

I stand by this 100%

As ever England are ahead of us. There's been 50 odd Junior Park Runs back up and running down there, although I've not heard about any adult events.

Up here, as you'd expect, absolultely nothing.

Would love to get back to Parkrun (or 10Ks - marathons beyond my clapped out achilles these days)

Not Parkrun, but interesting all the same (interesting in that England exploring these things, and Scotland  still doing the square root of f**k all)

i'm also quite disappointed we haven't even attempted anything bar the pointless token of 300 fans in an otherwise empty stadium. let someone else worry about that seems to be our MO

Can't be too careful. There might be an as yet undiscovered couch to 5k variant that we don't yet know about.

In the gym last night. Mobbed with no one wearing masks and little distancing. Glorious to see.

Whilst it is good to see things reopening and the majority of people being positive about it, rather than handwringing about a third wave, personal stories like this https://www.theguardian.com/society/2021/apr/27/donna-coleman-died-after-covid-ran-riot-at-burnley-college-should-it-have-been-open highlight the need to keep the pressure on the government to hold a full public inquiry into their handling of the pandemic.

These two posts are a perfect illustration of the past year in this forum.
